The illegal bombs are being transported by local fishing boats who also import drugs. I'm surprised the cops and FBI don't go after them, it's so easy to catch them. They offered me drugs and illegal bombs and I was a stranger looking for a fishing tour. The cops are either stupid or in on the very profitable drug and fireworks trade. Corruption at the top, even Bush's Homeland Security heads were arrested for crimes, and they are supposed to protect us? That's what happens when you hire former military officers for civilian positions, corrupt in the military and corrupt in civilian life.

Sorry anti-fireworks folks. Tradition dating back past all you complainers, both new and old the island is to prevail. Long live firecrackers. Bring back the Duck and Peacock Brand and lets get ready to blow off more steam come July 4. Yee Haw!!!!!!
I don't give a F&%K about your tradition!
If the gov. won't ban this selfish, lawless public health hazard then we will deal with it ourselves and take the law into our own hands for the sake of our children and kapunas.

Next time. I'll take some aerials and point them at your house or hook up a firehose!

AUWE! You've been warned

When these terrorist use illegal fireworks or rocket bombs, they should be fined $50,000 per incident and take away their homes if they cannot pay. Also confiscate their cars since they had to transport the illegal bombs. These punks deserve to be homeless so they cannot play fireworks anymore. Come on Legislators, change the law so cops can confiscate their vehicles and home just like in drug cases. This will make the government richer and get rid of these stupid people who don't care about others.

Did you notice the most illegal fireworks and bombs were set off in Lanikai and Hawaii Kai? Who lives in those areas? Richer white guys and mainland relatives. Outsiders coming in and giving the locals a bad name. Arrest them all.

In most areas the bombs, aerials and illegals lasting for hours came from known section 8 and welfare residences.

You raise a greater social policy question. Why should the US taxpayer fund this lifestyle if they are wasting our money on non-necessities. Their expenditures should be monitored. No money for large trucks, flatscreen televisons, and fireworks. If they can buy fireworks; they can pay more in rent. Our money should only be used for food, clothing, medical care, education, and other necessities of life and we shouldn't be supporting their lazy unambitious lifestyle.

Yes, it is so TRADITIONAL that we have loud bombs and explosions going off from Halloween through New Years.
Especially great to have those very traditional bombs and explosions during Thanksgiving- which as we all know is a key part of that day.
And how could it be Christmas, especially Christmas Eve, if the Keiki's aren't outside setting off bombs that their wounderful parents have so lovingly duct-taped together for them.
Burned hands, hearing loss and vision loss- plus asthma and freaked out pets- these are our ISLAND TRADITIONS- please, don't take these important cultural traditions away!

I guess the point being made here is that if you play with fireworks, do it naked so that your clothes don't catch on fire.

Oooooooohhhh those sparks are burning my p.....s...

Having a firecracker go off in my hand as a kid lead to long-term effects with me.

Fireworks need to be banned, and this religious excuse is a bunch of crap. So let's continue to watch kids get hurt while we pay for the response team of fire department and police to fix the mess. Our elected officials need a firecracker up their (excuse me) and need to start putting laws in place that are BASIC common sense or is that missing in our Hawaii political circle!

I hear the parents were playing x-box while their children were playing with homemade firecrackers. To many losers out there that are parents. Probably drinking, smoking drugs, living at home with mommy and daddy, welfare, free school lunches, free medicaid. If these loser parents took an interest in their kids education, read to them at night instead of doing fireworks or partying every weekend in the garage, the DOE would not be burdened with screwed up children.

CPS should be notified and action taken against parents for issues of injurious harm to their kids. No safety=neglect in thinking of the child's welfare and solely of parental fun at the expense of child safety.

Typical loser family.
1. Buy Beer, hard liquor, wine, drugs.
2. Use food stamps for pupu such as steak, poke.
3. The father of his kids who is not on the birth certificate just shacking up is selling weed on the side so he can buy fireworks.
4. They can afford liquor, drugs, fireworks, but cannot work to care for their family.

The most police call were in central Oahu you bozo, like Waipahu and Pearl City.

Lanikai was mellow compared with the rest of the war zone this island became.

What a crazy comment you blew out!

Politicians, I hope you read all those commentaries and realize that the vast majority of the people here are fed up with fireworks. Ban them and spare our keiki from needless injuries.
