Cannot believe you didn't suggest breakfast at Eggs and Things. I dream of their macadamia nut panecakes with pineapple or coconut syrup!

When I was a student in Honolulu in the late 1970s/early 1980s (UH-Manoa), I used to love those plate lunches with the rice and macaroni salad. Kalbi ribs was my favorite, followed by, in no particular order, pork cutlet, teriyaki chicken, beef stew, fried fish, and hamburger steak w/fried egg. For the latter, the server would always ask, "You like gravy on the rice?"

I agree...and eating out has becomne so expensive in the bad Lingle/Bush economy.
