Do you think this governor gives a rat sass about the children of hawaii? She has gone after the collage system, the public schools, the bus system, and the pre schoolers. She makes hawaii a laughing stock to the entire nation!

Eh, dumb base, it's spelled college, NOT collage.

And, no, it is NOT Lingle's fault. It is the greedy HSTA union and the Democrat infiltrated DOE system that is to blame.

Bottom line is the State's tax revenue is plummeting and the HSTA and DOE could care less, so long as they get theirs.

For sure, Lingle should not have signed off on the initial furlough friday failure, but, coming to her senses, she is trying to end this National embarrassment and International condemnation.

You, however, sound like a Hawaii Democrat, a unique breed, that embodies deflection of Union greed to any Republican in sight.

I point out that she failed, you point out that her furlouth idea was a failure. I point out that Hawaii is the laughing stock of the nation, you point out that this was a National embarrassment and recieved International condemnation. So other than a typo I see that you agree with me.

Robert Perkinson pointed out a very important fact, the gov. and her team does not understand math! Her offer to use the hurricane fund does not address all the furlough days. She was fast to proclaim her actions took the state to an economic boom 12 months after she got elected in 2002. She does not seem to be able to wave her magic wane the past 2 years, why? She cannot do simple math!

First Lingle says, "It's raining on the children now." before proposing the use of the Rainy Day Fund.

Now, she is clearly the only one still urinating on the children.

Marion Higa needs to dig deeper into the fiscal activities of the State's worst child abuser on record, so we can move swiftly towards impeachment.:)

"The Legislature had appropriated the money to the DOE, but because of the economic downturn, the governor did not release the money.

"I can't impress enough upon people the role the governor plays," Hanabusa said."

Here we go again! Hanabusa busting the governor's chops. She should go back to her law firm which pays her $150,000-$200,000 a year. Remember, she accepted a 36% pay raise when the State was spirling into a negative financial balance.

People still don't seem to understand simple English. NO MONEY, MEANS NO MONEY!"

the two sides are too far apart in coming to a settlement so "stick a fork" in this fiasco-the public school system is broken.

the alternative for those "concerned parents' are to transfer their kids to private schools after the holidays and pay those outrageous tuition.

After all, if they want their kids to go to a good college, its a small investment on their part to send their kids to a college prep private school. The public school system, in their stupid mind, blend the smart kids with the dummies.

Robert Perkinson:

I bet you're the kind of parent that gives their kids everything they ask for no matter what the cost? Must be because you sure act like that with MY money.

You obviously aren't qualified to teach your kids some of life's lessons... like they have to make choices instead of demanding others live up to your expectations.

I would really love to see your kids demand a car, then complain that you haven't "put enough money on the table." And "...Rather than put it in your (sic) pocket and walk away, we want him (sic) to bat it back," What fun that would be to watch.

lol! Another child hostage taker.

Amazing how many parents aren't capable of teaching their children but demand others do it for them regardless of cost.

lol! The math is simple. It seems no one else from parents, the DOE to the legislature are interested in seeing how it actually works. They keep talking as if free money is available for them to use on a whim as if it's just waiting there for them.

The worst part is, they choose to be ignorant of the real problems or address them in any way.

The things we teach kids...

Self esteem is basic. You learn that on the street. You gotta remember Angie. I loved this guy, I loved him but he was stupid. He never rolled, ya know that? He never rolled! My brother Gene, Joey Dimig, they're doing a thousand years now. Why? That's the rule. You don't break, you don't rat. Gives you a bit of power, huh? Not the kind of power these Feds have. God forbid, we pull their chain in public. F***n' dress better than them they take it personal likes it's a f***n vendetta. There supposed to act better than the rest of us. They just wanted me to be something I wasn't even born to be.

I think she does.

I don't thing the people who want more money spent on this care about anyone or anything else as far as state functions go. It's only about them.

For all Hawaii Politicians, it should be mandatory for all of thier children to attend Hawaii Public Schools. Maybe then, Hawaii Politicians will be more concerned for the plight of Hawaii Public School Children.

Right on Lingle, we don't have enough money to feed those fat teachers. Let those fat locals lose their jobs so they move away and leave Hawaii for those who can live in luxury without working. Rich people add beauty to Hawaii but locals only destroy Hawaii and want a handout.
Lazy, fat, locals, get rid of them.

The first thing we have to do is get rid of all the fat locals. They consume all the resources and contribute nothing. They should all go to Vegas and live in the desert like rats they are. Without the locals Hawaii would be a much better place.

Now, you shut up! You just listen. Big Pauly went down to Don Carlo for permission to have you whacked. It came this close. I told Don Carlo you were like a son to me. That touched the old man. He told Paul to give you a pass. But if Don Carlo had said you gotta go, I would've come here today with these two zips and you would go. John, you cannot whack a made man on somebody else's crew! There are rules! You break the rules, and this whole goddamn thing of ours cracks and crumbles! You never break the rules. Capiche?
