Alice, you sound like a very kind and generous person.

We should all learn from you. Give... but know to whom and what you are giving.

Don't trust everybody..just those that are worthy or your trust.

Thanks von..people here like to tease the girl from North Dakota but they are all well meaning. I just feel we need to not fear the homeless. As one man told me on the bus, "I think we all fear the homeelss because they look so much like us and what has happened to them can happen to us soon." I agree. I welcome all my roommates here to help in whatever way they can. Take a bag of groceries to Food Bank or send thm cash. Just help...you can think of a reason why later.

if the top 1% had 8% of all income in 1980 and now the top 1% has over 22% of all income ...plus more wealth than the bottom 95% then you'll have mass poverty and hunger....charity alone cannot solve this ....

Excuse me - mainlander - they are not Hawaiians in these lines - check your self before you make false statements. And that is correct we want OUR land... But you can have your canned food because we know how to live off the (HAWAIIANS) land.

The hungry are our brothers and sisters, so what if some of our donations go to the undeserving. At least we tried to help those that are truly in need. Have faith when you donate, you may make someones day.

This is what happens when you spend all of your food money on SUV payments, cellphones, flat screen TVs, heinekins and crystal meth.

Just wondering what is a Hawaiian? Don't you think that many people that claim to be Hawaiians are just saying that so they can get free land and things? Would you accept maybe the Kam Schools classification of being a Hawaiian as being dependant on the percentage of Hawaiian blood one may have?

At what point does a person not become Hawaiian? If a person has less than 1% Hawaiian Blood would you consider that person a Hawaiian? As for as land is concerned I agree that if a person has any linage at all to the original true Hawaiian owners of the land then that might has some kind of case, but as time goes on soon the whole would have linage and claim to the land. Yet back then they never had such things and land deeds.

Remember that Hawaiians originally did not come from Hawaii they came from China and settled on the islands as per the U of H.

I forgot how to spell Soylent, but I'll never forget the movie. Yes we are right in the middle of the era.
I didn't mean to be so harsh, but my moods have been down lately.
Everybody who pays attention to what is happening in DC has been down lately.
Then add in hanneman and what a mess we are in with that dictator insisting on bankrupting Oahu.
No wonder.

There are FREQUENT food giveaways. Plus places that serve entire meals.
Homeless, from what I hear, do not even have to go to the giveaways, food is delivered to them.
Add in the huge numbers on food stamp cards.
If anybody is hungry they are selling their food for drugs and liquor. I thought it was just a story until was offered to purchase $20 worth of groceries for $10, at a 7-11 no less.

Daily Horoscope for December 30

Scorpio

If you've been surrounded by people during the past few days you welcome the chance to have some time to yourself today. It's a wonderful excuse to do something really indulgent in private, such as scoff a whole box of chocolates while watching a favourite film on TV. But make sure you destroy all the evidence before everyone else comes home!
