Mufi will run for Governor where he will expand his rail plan to run trains TO all the islands.
Seattle just got 100 mil in federal transportation dollars to extend their lite rail (not yet built) 3 miles to connect to the University of Washington campus. Not a rail fan, having lived in Chicago and HEARD steel wheels all night long from 2 blocks away. |

Mufi will be riding the train-no time to be mayor.

4 Mufi won't promise to serve the full four years as Mayor, which the public would re-elect him in order to fulfill? It's obvious now that he sees the Mayor's position as a "stepping stone" for higher office and not as an obligation to serving the public. Not only that, we'd have to go through the whole process of electing another mayor in two years? Way to go in saving the O'ahu taxpayer's money. Mufi Hannemann, union toy. Thankfully, Panos Prevedouros will "spank" him silly in this year's election. |

1 Then we won't have to worry about him in any other race. As a first term mayor, he has done nothing but upset a great number of voters. |

2 His promises: We must be honest, truthful, and accountable for the public’s money. We must ensure that our police, fire fighters, and other first-responders are fully staffed and equipped. We must repair our roads. We must fix our sewers and tackle our solid waste and recycling problems. We must maintain our existing parks and public facilities. We must find solutions to our traffic headaches. City road crews will be filling potholes year-round. We will lay a three-quarter to one-inch overlay of asphalt on existing roadways in rural areas. We will have major reconstruction of heavily used thoroughfares. Traffic engineers can optimize the synchronization of traffic signals. The Traffic Flow Council will be charged with coordinating road work to minimize traffic disruption. We have slated more City operations to relocate to Kapolei and I intend to ensure that building is fully occupied, and soon. We are also pursuing launching a ferry system from Leeward Oahu to downtown Honolulu. Being the fiscal conservative that I am, I always regard raising taxes as the last option. I’m convinced that a mass transit system can be built and operated with the cooperation of the public and private sectors. We need to do a better job of watching over and spending the people’s monies. We must focus on basic City services. We must take better care of our environment by taking corrective action on roads, sewers and solid waste, parks, and public safety. If we don’t take decisive action today, the next generation will ask,“Why?” Why didn’t we act? Why didn’t we stop the deterioration of our quality of life? This is about cooperation and teamwork in restoring faith and confidence in the ability of government to meet the needs of our people. |

1 Hannemann is merely keeping his options open and being honest about it. There's the difference. |

1 I wish there were someone credible running against him. It would be easy to oust him. |

1 A Supper Ferry? Is that something like a banquet or a formal meal on wheels? I know Linda Lingle will never be as confusing as your post. A Supper Ferry? He, he :) |

3 No, vote for Mufi if you can't think for yourself, need to be led by the nose, and love political corruption, favoritism and cronyism. A vote for Panos is a vote for change to honest government. You can't handle that, can you? The people need to be bombarded with incessant special interest and public funded infomercials on how great Mufi's rail road job is. |
