Yoko's in Kapahulu with live dancing, dancing at the Oasis, Victoria Inn in Kaimuki with the handsome bus boy, the ghost in the Waialae drive inn rest room, Waikiki Zoo with no entrance fee, the working fountain in Thomas Square, mango and plumeria trees in most yards, printed men's long sleeve shirts, so many men had moustaches, can't remember Hawaii having humid weather like now days!

The Jac-shirt with slight embroidered
Hawaiian motif. You can see a few on the old Hawaii 5-0 re-runs. |

OMG!!! I think I had atleast ONE OF EACH of the things you listed. Thanks for the Memories. Does anyone remember trying to buy their kid a Cabbage Patch doll the first year they came out? I was lucky my brother worked for Ben Franklin when they sold EVERYTHING! |

I am bummed... I just found out about Mackey Feary. You know I haven't been back to Hawaii for more than twenty years, so I didn't know.
It's just not right. What a shame. |
Even many fans who remember the tragic events to this day felt it wasn't right. Kalapana was the voice of the 70's along with C&K. They broke ground and were outstandingly creative and original. Welcome back. |

Ditto. This thread, along with the 50s/60s and Ala Moana threads are the best. |

some one should build a website where we can caht and also post photos from the past. Have a prom photo section.
|
What an idea! I'll never post these (too personal), but I have photos of my dad on a knuckle head Harley Davidson. Also, mom & dad camping out at Allen Davis(?).. the era where a family could camp, pitch a tent and never worried about bothersome/ dangerous people on the beaches of Hawaii. Sounds like a fantasy, huh? |
|
They're other forums that touch on this very subject and you can post pictures as well. The Hawaiithreads is a good example. |
