While the seat belt citations are down, child safety violations were up statewide. We are buckling up but our children are still flying out of the back of pickups...

Highest use of seat belts in the United States and the highest car insurance rates...does not make sense..unless you're some company gorging Hawaii's residents to the almighty profit $$$$dollar?

Now the police dept. should start enforcing all the other driving laws that are not being enforced. Oh yea I forgot, there is no money given for enforcing the other laws.

<<State Transportation Director Brennon Morioka said Hawaii typically has been at the top of the nation over the last few years, serving as a model state>>

Model state...kind of nice to hear after finding out Hawaii has the lowest voter turnout in the nation and ranks near the bottom when it comes to maintaining streets and highways.

So this is based on tickets issued??

What a load of BS

Laws not enforced makes for good news?

Let's see, HOV violations, turn signals, reckless driving, speeding, running red lights. We let people ride in the back seat without a seat belt and we can ride in the back of pick up trucks without any restraints. I see people riding in the back of pick up trucks sitting on folding chairs, back against the tailgate. Very interesting...

I guess we are searching very hard for things that we can pat ourselves on the back for.

We must be breaking all kinds of records because nothing is enforced.

Hawaii traffic laws are just 'suggestions'.

Ain't we great!

What about running stop lights, and other traffic laws.
I really like to see resources used on the freeway where HPD is waiting up hill with their radar guns no less in rush hour traffic
This stat is shibai

Not to mention that I see that the 'hands free' law has turned out to be just another Hawaii 'suggestion'.

They tried a No stinky people' law and are now working on the highly anticipated 'No sleeping on the sidewalk' law.

What ever would we all do if they didin't come up with new, non enforced laws for a year or two...

MUST HAVE NEW LAWS, MUST HAVE NEW LAWS

Heck, I put my seat belt on because I am waiting for the "big crash". Pilot..attention to all paying passengers ....fasten your seat belts. Looks like we are in for an open ocean water crash. We should survive the impact but please expect to drown in your own seat belt.

That is all...over.

What's with Brennon speaking so much in the media? Ain't it why we have Tammy to do the talking?
