All this is BS. The Chinese have an electric plug in car that can go 120 miles on one charge. It will be sold in the US in 2 YEARS. The money spent at Honoeye Falls (GM) is wasted. They have accomplished nothing. Its all talk and hype. Nothing any of us will be using in the next 10 years or more. We need fuel efficient cars and alternatives now. Today. This is why GM is bankrupt. No direction and targets.

Tad, GM has an electric car too. It's called the Volt and is planned to be released in 2010. Our sources of electricity aren't clean either, and it will not be a viable solution for long distances.

My comment on this article: nothing at all was mentioned here about the massive layoffs at that facility just a few months ago. They spent two straight days laying off contract workers. They keep talking about how great this facility is, but there are no job openings. They left talented engineers jobless and forced to look out of the area for employment. With the cutbacks by GM, these congressmen shouldn't get their hopes up.

Then stop yapping and go back to Congress to ask for real economic stimulus. GM asked for infrastructure years ago, but it takes a crisis to develop leaders. Be forwawrd thinking for once.

I rode in one of the vehicles and observed how efficient it is. It gets about 275 miles per tank of gas. Congressman Massa is looking to the future and is trying to bring attention to the fact we need to develop the infrastructure for hydrogen storage.
