I sincerely hope that if this man votes against the interests of his district that voters kick him out of office in the next election. A US Representative is elected to represent the will of the people-that is their job. If he is not willing to perform his job than he should lose it.

Congratulations congessman Massa, that's why I voted for you and will again !!!

its interesting that when its a story of someone getting shot there are 100s of posts, yet when an elected official publicly states he does not care about what the majority wants and will vote only on what he wants, only 2 posts are received
that pretty much sums up the problems in rochester
i understand the excuse of him wanting to do whats best for the country
but then you get into serious moral dilemmas, when it comes to our government the government should always listen to the majority.
when the government stops listening to the majority, we no longer have the United States Government
i realized we have had some problems in our government for a while now, but i didn't think things would get that bad
if voters are smart and care about the country they will get him out of office as soon as possible and send a message to these people in power that if you dont represent the people in your decisions, the people wont represent you at the polls

hey upset- his district is usually very Republican Reich Wing - they dont want the Obamacare
Wonder how Boob Dingleberry is gonna spin this on his show? Will he ignore the topic because he hates Massa and would rather eat his shoes than give him props for favoring the same agenda as him. It would'nt look good for his FUBU sales.

Time to vote him out!

The single payee is the right thing for the coutry. [email protected] co., drug co.ect...scramble. They have the American people against a rock&a hard place...it is part of the gross greediness of our system. A radical change is just what the doctor ordered, before the current system needs a bail when the fat cats have run it dry!

he is suppose to vote for his constituents. he is voting for HIS OWN interests. vote him out,but that won't happen because the Democrats are blind mice that can onpy follow and not think on their own- what a shame it is that our country has withered to since the founding fathers penned the Constitution. I fear for my children and grand children with people like Massa in power.

Gallup says 40% of the nation now SELF identifies as conservative.
Only 21% liberal.
Rasmussen says 54% of the ENTIRE NATION thinks NO BILL is better than HR 3200. 66% of INDEPENDENTS believe that NO BILL is better than HR 3200.
Thaaaaaaaaat’s right sports fans. 66% of INDEPENDENTS would rather congress do NOTHING than pass HR 3200.
53% of the ENTIRE NATION is OPPOSED.
57% of the ENTIRE NATION is OPPOSED to single payer. Yyyyyyyyyyep, you read that right, too.
45% of the nation DOESN’T BELIEVE Pelosi or Hoyer when they say this will make health care more affordable. Only 32% believe them.
Only 27% believe Pelosi that the house bill will mean more patient choice. 49% say it WON’T.
52% of those WITH insurance don’t believe Pelosi and Hoyer. 54% of INDEPENDENTS don’t believe them either.
By 3 TO 1 MARGINS, EVERYONE says COST is the bigger problem, not LACK of universal coverage.
So you see, the liberals like Pelosi and Obama are just way out of touch with where the American public is right now. It doesn’t matter how many “blather-a-thons” Obama does, the nation just doesn’t believe them anymore.
And Massa, with his outright "I will vote against the interests of my district" is just one more example of the horrendous arrogance the democrats hold toward the voters.
They don't care what YOU think, only what THEY think.
Doesn't that speak VOLUMES about their agenda? If their agenda is SO great, why do they say it's AGAINST the interests of their areas?
Why won't they LISTEN to what the voters are saying?
As the article the other day put it "it's up to the voters to wipe the smile off their faces."
And as another article put it "for some democrats in 2010, tomorrow will never come."
Several articles today point out now, yea, democrats are getting nervous now. Even ONE article trying to prop up the democrats as "no, they haven't lost the independents."
Reality check? EVERY poll is saying the democrats have lost them. He has to reach back to a Marist poll from JUNE to make the argument that the independents "are still on board."
Pretty sad, when a democrat leaning columnist has to reach back that far to try to bolster the democrats.
Look, even a democrat strategist who DIDN'T want to be named said this has all the ear marks of 1994, where the democrats get hammered, but Obama has time to try to rehabilitate himself.
It took the democrats 10 years to recover from the 1994 stupidity last time. People like Massa are ignoring it again.
How long will it take them THIS time to recover?

Poll after poll after poll shows the independents are livid.
The SENIORS are livid. AARP had to slap down a claim by Obama that AARP endorsed the plan (congressional plan.)
Now, centrist democrats are becoming disillusioned with the democrat party. Even PAGLIA said this doesn't resemble "her party" that she's known.
Now, combine the high negatives? Those become weighted as ISSUE voters. Voters that will show up rain or shine for an ISSUE on the ballot.
Negatives that high means people will show up rain or shine to vote specifically for OR AGAINST a person OR A PARTY.
So, 66% of independents are ANGRY, think they'll show up to vote FOR a democrat?
Of course not.
Seniors ALWAYS vote, rain or shine. And they're LIVID. Think THEY'RE going to show up and vote for a democrat?
The GOP has always been better at turning out the vote. THEY'RE not going to show up and vote for a democrat.
And 40% of the nation NOW SELF IDENTIFIES as conservative.
The DEMOCRATS lost 2 points in ONE MONTH in party affiliation. Republicans and independents each gained a point.
NOW, do the math. Independents are estimated make up 1/3rd of the voting block now. Seniors make up, by some estimates 25%. And the GOP, on the low side, make up 30%.
DO THE MATH. 30%+ 25%+ 30%.
Now not ALL those groups would vote FOR the GOP, but a total of the groups? 85% of the voters out there.
But if you pick up a MAJORITY of those voters? If you pick up 57% of those?
Guess what you've got. AN UGLY SCENARIO FOR THE DEMOCRATS.
Remember, some of the democrats got swept in on the "hate Bush" push. How many of them do you think are ALSO going to get swept out in the "ANYONE but another tax and spend democrat" wave that is rising?
But these idiot democrats keep clicking their ruby slippers whining "there's NO place like home, there's NO place like home" as the tornado gets worse and worse around them.
Keep telling yourselves you think the nation WANTS what you're humpin' out there.
They'll send you the message AGAIN just like they did in 1994. You'll KEEP getting b*tchslapped until you understand, this nation doesn't WANT big nanny parasitic government in their lives.
Someday, you'll understand. Maybe in 2016 you'll see a recover. Took you 10 years last time.

Too bad that he got elected the second time he ran. Did not vote for him and will not again. He is a liar, but he was in the Navy. So was my husband but he did not remind everyone like Massa does.

Just grab that clip and keep sending it out to everyone. Cut it down to the salient portions, and keep posting it.
Record it and play it at meetings. Play it at rallies.
Pfffffff, load it up on the monitors at the local bolling alley.
Show what he REALLY says to whacko lefties when you guys aren't watching. What he REALLY thinks of you guys.
He's an obscene example of why the democrats can't be trusted. Yea, the republicans were dumb, I'll grant you that.
But the democrats are obscene in their agenda and what they're trying to do.
I'd take "dumb" over ugly sneaky dishonest any day of the week. The republicans are THOROUGHLY chastised. They learned their lesson.
The democrats REFUSE to learn. So they'll LIE to you to get elected.
Now which one would you RATHER have? Someone who figured out that YOU'RE MAD and you PUNISHED THEM? And won't do it again?
Or someone who outright doesn't care what you think and will LIE to you to get you to vote for him, and then vote AGAINST those who elected him...
Pretty clear choice....

When he is voted out of office in 2010 does he get to keep his current health insurance?
#13 Aug 18, 2009
gee, maybe I shall not vote for him again. Silly me for thinking that elected politicians are supposed to vote what the people want, not what the official personally feels they need.....
#14 Aug 18, 2009
This guy needs to go--who made him God????
#15 Aug 18, 2009
I agree--no one else is paying attention to the ENTIRE quote and the crux of the ENTIRE argument:
""I will vote adamantly against the interests of my district IF I ACTUALLY THINK WHAT I AM DOING IS GOING TO HELP THEM."
It's about time someone made health insurance affordable to those who can't afford it because they are too busy paying for benefits handed out to lazy, good-for-nothing, unemployed (and unemployable) crackhead leeches.
#16 Aug 18, 2009
Fairport... that says it all.
#17 Aug 18, 2009
Your stats are skewed.
The percentages are only of THOSE POLLED. How about the rest of us who were not?
The statistics ALWAYS represent the political views of the polling agency, who choose who is polled, where the polling is done, and can disqualify at will any answer that does not "comply" with their (unpublished and therefore unknown) requirements.
Go back to school and take a course in statistics, please.

Wowwwwwwsaaaaaaaa.....Massa is going to be in trouble, but look at this poll. Funny, you don't hear to much about it on the MSM.
Washington Post Survey:
2/3rds of Vigrinia voters said that Obama’s support of Democrat Sen Deeds either makes no difference of makes them LESS LIKELY to back the democratc gubernatorial nominee.
Whoa...2/3rds OF EVERYONE either DON’T CARE what Obama says or will take that as a NEGATIVE.
And you still think everyone LOVES Obama?
That is some MAJOR anger out there in Virginia. But keep thinking the nation LOVES you democrats, and loves Obama and your nutjob policies.
You’re in for a VERY ugly awakening.
Specifically, 34% said Obama’s endorsement made them LESS likely to vote for Deeds. The same number that would make it more likely.
Whoaaaaaaaaaa......a negative that high?
And then, 3 in 10 said it made NO DIFFERENCE. So, essentially, you have 60% who either don’t care, or have a BAD TASTE in their mouth from Obama.
Pay attention to this part, for you left wing nut jobs who still think independents support you guys, this part is gonna REALLY suck for you:
37% of INDEPENDENTS said it is LESS likely they would support Deeds because of the Obama support. 37%! Say it is LESS LIKELY.
Only 23% said it would make them more likely.
38% of independents, almost 4 in 10, said it would make NO DIFFERENCE.
As the article on politico, The Fix, points out, independents were RESPONSIBLE for Obama’s win, AND THE DEMOCRAT MAJORITIES.
With THESE kinds of negatives, you can’t WIN elections, much less hold majorities.
Pay attention you whackos out there, and even that pathetic columnist trying to argue the independents haven’t left the democrats....
You’re delusional. Just keep telling yourselves the nation supports you. When you wake up in 2010, we’ll be there with the aspirin for your Kool-Aid hangover.
You really gotta wonder at the stupidity of some of these democrats. They're spitting into a gale force wind at their faces.
Doncha love how they'll wrap themselves in the flag and call you "unAmerican" but when they try to withhold PAY for the military as hostage for a health care bill?
Well, they're just doing their JOB, right? When they will jam something down your throats, well, they're doing their JOBS....
Well, they'll be OUT of a job come 2010. Thank goodness.

You hit the nail on the head.
Here's a link that defines "Single Payer Health Care".
PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELVES
#20 Aug 18, 2009
Massa! You work for the people you represent NOT the political party you are. Being an "independent" is your party choice NOT your actions and decisions. Way to mislead and lie to your consituents. Familiarize yourself with the initiative of the people to RECALL you.
