Man faces murder charges in shooting of ex-girlfriend

Charges against a Chicago Heights man accused of shooting his ex-girlfriend in the face in June were upgraded to murder Thursday after she died of her injuries.

I knew Teresa very well. She was a wonderful human being who had a lot of love to give. I feel so badly for the young son she left behind. My prayers are with him and her family.

It sure is! Isn't it horrible! Her jealous old boyfriend did this to her! He has a lot of time to think about what he has done... in prison where he belongs and always told Teresa he hated it there! Oh well... learn to love it!

Even after shooting her in the face, he decided to hit her over the head with a huge planterbox! smashing her skull...
The gunshot was not enough for this possessed person! He knew what he was doing and does not deserve to live...
He is not a man, he is a coward and a ruthless
deranged animal who needs to be put out of his misery... that's what I have to say! Poor Eric, her son... misses her immensely and witnessed her death and beating! Must never be released!

I cannot beleive this happened to her. I met her when I worked for Amtrak, I was working on the train when her and her mom came out to Los Angeles awhile ago and we went out a couple times when I was in Chicago. She was a beautiful girl and didnt deserve to be murdered like that, I feel so bad for her son that he had to see that happen.

I cared for her and am deeply hurt that this happened

She was my sister that I really never knew. Unfortunate, but true! My mother still lives in Chicago Heights and misses her greatly!

Hi Randy, it's Lenora. Just wanted you to know that my Mother Rose passed away yesterday. Complications from surgery! I am so sad for our family and mostly my brother in Chicago! His name is Chris Iacovetti.. God Bless her... she was devastated about her loss of Teresa and I know it didn't help her heart at all...

Thank you Kristi! Her rosary is this Friday from 2:00-8:00. I don't know where as of yet though..

Probably at the Rosemoor Funeral Home and funeral at St. Agnes Church in the Heights and Assumption Cemetary for a burial.

I told my Mother and she does remember you! She said you were very nice to Teresa....
Unfortunately, she is gone now too.... I miss her already...

I only knew Theresa briefly as a teenager. I still live in the area and would like to help her son or your family in some way.Please contact me if you can. I am so sorry we didn't hear about this sooner. She was a wonderful person who didn't deserve any of this. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family always.
