20 Shot In Chicago In Less Than 24-Hours

The weekend has gotten off to an especially violent start, with no fewer than 20 people shot on the streets of Chicago, three of them fatally, from Friday afternoon through early Saturday.

Let's see, J-FED, In Car Cameras, stripping coppers for being drunk at home, indicting them for paperwork mistakes, and charging them with felonies. Off the cuff remarks from a Sun Times writer....It's not even warm out yet.12 % homcide clearance rates in area 2. video taped confessions, ASA's with a polictical agenda..... You asked for it Chicago, you got it. Detroit. Oh yeah, blame the guns, not the people pulling the trigger.Second guessing coppers when the kill a wild animal that can kill a human in seconds....

this is what happens when you tie the polices'hands. i posted earlier this year (dino b) and stated that until police moral improves there are going to be many more violent weekends, can you imagine how bad it would be if we had the same weather as LA.

This story seems bogus to me. Not enough investigative information and details surrounding these incidents. Just a list of victims. It doesn't ring true to me.

Surprise, surprise. The city wants a less pro-active warm fuzzy police well now they got it and look at the result. A no hands-on type of police department in this city is suicide. The moral in the department is lower than ever and unless something is changed, it will only get worse. Police are on trial more than the offenders they arrest. Cameras, audio recording. The city has tied the hands of the police department and there so called union has done nothing to address problem. Have a great summer Chicago, the NEW Murder capitol of the world!!!

I just logged on to the Chicago Tribune newspaper to research this story. Nothing came up, it is bogus. Don't believe everything you read, especially on line.

These are the same kids that my taxes pay for there education, while they go to school 10 times a year and sell weed and make babies the other 355. None of them pay taxes , they live in the city to collect welfare, disability, and whatever else they can get for free from honest hardworking people.

Why cant they ban or restrict gun license in the USA, as it is practised in India? In India you can see the guns and hear the gun shot sounds only in the movies.For the first time, I happened to see a real gun only in the USA when I had to travel to Detroit from NYC via cleveland. In cleveland bus station, a passenger who was standing on the line right next to me,possessed a gun for which he was enquired by the police but ultimately was let free with the gun.
I'm a Doctor and practisning medicine for 8 years now, to your surprise, i havent received any gun shot wounded patient in my life though i work for the indian govt hospitals where we use to get hefty number of cases.
I dont say there's no violence in India. I'm just talkin about the gun culture.

Chicago has just turned scandalous as hell.

I used to live there, but would never return under these circumstances (people getting shot) for no reason. Why do everybody have to own guns anyway? What has society come to?

I have lived in several of the areas mentioned where victims were shot. And, none of that mess occurred when I was living in Chicago. The younger generations just have no damn home training. Most of the people I grew up with had children at ages 13-16, are now grandparents. And, I am just 47 y.o. I can't even begin to imagine. They were all using drugs and drinking, and are all washed up. The kids they produced have grown up as stone thugs now. What a pitiful shame. I am so glad not to be there anymore. If I were to move back to Chicago, it would have to be along the magnificent mile where decency will always prevail. The old money is not letting the bull sh-- move in down there.

u sound like the animal! while children are being murderd by other children, you complain about money and taxes while these kids have to deal with trying to live and survive as a child let alone as an adult.If your tax money was actually helping the city instead of paying for a useless war then maybe your comments would have a little more weight to them.Our Soldiers have to kill people everyday, some who are innocents, some who are children, our tax dollars pay for that too , are the animals as well!!!
