From the article...

But the appointment at Tuesday's Oak Forest City Council meeting was anything but smooth. The appointment was approved in a 4-to-3 vote, with Aldermen Paul Wechet (7th), Peter Muscarella (6th) and Nancy Hullinger (5th) voting against.

Ald. Chuck Toland (4th)... Ald. Rich Simon (2nd)... Ald. Laura Clemons (1st) cast the tie-breaking vote in favor of Richmond's appointment.

Ald. Chuck Toland (4th)... Ald. Rich Simon (2nd)... Ald. Laura Clemons (1st) All VOTED YES...

Remember Their Names
HANK KUSPA - Made the Appointment
CHUCK TOLAND - Voted YES
RICH SIMON - Voted YES
LAURA CLEMONS - Voted YES

Hold each of them accountable to the residents of Oak Forest.

After the council agrees on Richmond's benefits, I am willing to put my secretarial skills up against his. If I beat the pants off of him, I get the job with all the perks! How does that sound?

That is fine, but how mauch money can you contribute to the campaign war chest. Ole Hank will be a one-term wonder and he will need to start his re-election campaign early.
Besides your professional skills, and campaign contributions, how many votes can you muster up? That is what really matters !

I would like to thank my 6th ward ald for voting against this! We have a part time mayor hiring a secretaty for 40k a year position. I'll do everything in my power to see that the aldermen who voted yes are not re-elected again. We could of used that money for salt this winter or better yet since it's wasted money lets have a big party in the city and all get wasted. Hank your wasting city money! Did anyone test Mr Richmonds typing skills.WHAT A JOKE, the mayor and aldermen who voted yes, buh bye !

Wasn't Kelly a part-time mayor? And wasn't Kelly's secretary full-time and making about the same?

I don't believe the issue is with the need for a secretary. The issue is with /who/ the secretary is. IN all reality, how old is Richmond? Does he even know how to turn a computer on?

Just asking cuz hanky panky seemed to be alluding that there wasn't one prior to Kuspa.
I don't agree with Kuspa's choice at all. Know too much about Richmond's dirty laundry.
I have a theory. Could it be possible the plan from the beginning of his campaign was for him to serve as a one term mayor just so Richmond could be placed strategically in the administration in order to get him his pension? Because Kuspa’s actions speak louder than words and not just on this Richmond issue. It seems he’s in it for his peeps and not the residents. If my theory is correct, then we got royally screwed.

Hanky - EVERY mayor has had a secretary - a full-time secretary. There is no additional expense for this position - the issue is WHO Mayor Kuspa chose to be his secretary!

Yes. That would have been DIANE WOLF. Why was she so conveniently left off the list of alderman who voted yes for Richmond's appointment? Seems rather strange.

I noticed that too. I thought that maybe she wasn't there, and the Mayor also cast a vote for?

Perhaps because she is known to be a big Kelly supporter and the person that wrote the original list is too?

Maybe you have something here, but be careful in how you approach this rumor, by the time we get to the next mayoral election, there will be a marathon race of candidates for the mayoral spot.

Still there will only be 20% of the citizens to vote!

I understand the Mayor needs a secretary but 40k per year. I believe Kuspa hired him back so he could get his pension.
