Parents of students at Bloom Trail High School in south suburban Steger are upset about not being alerted about two ROTC instructors who were suspended for allegedly sending inappropriate e-mails to some students.

Last Saturday I commented on this topic. So did one other parent. How come the school did not inform us? The kids all knew about it when both men were pulled out of class Thursday Feb. 18 for a meeting.
"Gianetti said he was told by Frank Kuzniewski, principal at Bloom Trail High School, that he had informed parents of the allegations and the suspensions." Were any parents informed? By who? and how? |

i for one have been satisfied with the administrations response with this matter i on the other hand understand some of the parents being upset but its not for people like Theresa Rhynes to be the one to pass judgement the school will address the parents asap they have the first priority the keep our kids safe, let the authorities handle it,they have to be careful on what they say they are wait legal advice to move forward on letting us know whats going on. no-one whats your drama

My daughter attends Bloom Trail. I know I recieve notification from the grade school if there is a threat to the safety of the students. Or we recieve a flyer saying to be careful. I haven't recieved anything from Bloom Trail saying there was a problem or that the problem is handled. Trail could have eased many parents minds with a simple note saying that they were aware of the problem and have it handled pending legal action. It would have at least told me they had it under control.

to laura, is your child in njrotc? if they arent then it wasnt going to effect your student anyway. we parents of njrotc kids received a letter from mr. k. steger dad was right, they couldnt really say anything until investigation was complete. our kids were in no danger, and they, the school and police department handled it through proper channels.
i think all the people who were so worried about the kids should have been there all year... how bout going to some drill meets? how bout helping out at other events? i personally havent seen a whole lot of parents out at any of the events. i can count on one hand how many times ive seen ANYONE from the administration out to support our kids in the three years ive been involved with this unit, but you see plenty out at football games etc. i think all things considered our kids did a remarkable job this weekend and chief should be highly complimented for hanging in there. |
