I'm pretty sure they both took a break together and then went back out to finish the job together. There isn't a lazy one in the whole bunch. I live on a homestead, and have been taught to do a lot of the work my husband normally does. That doesn't make him lazy. Should I be the only one capable, for whatever reason, at least I know how to handle any given situation. Pretty sure that's why Jane is being taught. That's what being self-sufficient is all about.

You need to watch the show.He told Jane too stay & cut the tree up then cut another one down.

I've watched the show many, many times. Perhaps you need to get a sense of humor and not take everything you see out of context. If you knew what real homestead living was all about, you'd get it. He was being funny, not lazy. He wouldn't leave her in a situation she's not yet comfortable with.
Been there done that

Seems to me, you folks don't know the difference between"reality" and "reality television". In "reality" lots of things happen. In "reality television" they take ALL those things and switch them around to tell the story just about anyway they want. In other words, if I shot enough video footage of any of the citizens of our fair hamlet, I could essentially make anyone look just about anyway I wanted... Do you get it now?
