Study: Otters Help Combat Global Warming
Sea otters rest in waters near Sitka. A new study says otters help kelp growth, which reduces carbon dioxide, which causes climate change.

I find no logic behind the idea that any system is 'helping' by doing what it has always done for thousands of years. Otters are a keystone species for the Pacific kelp forests and that is just what they do.
