We have been waiting on a case for 2 years now with Commerce. They have denied our claim even with us having proof of what we are trying to get justice for and also have a lawyer. They are denying for a mistake made by our former insurance agent!

It may be none of my business but, if you have been denied a claim based on the mistake of an agent, your agent has liability coverage for such errors, it is specifically called Errors and Ommissions Insurance. Agents are required to carry this coverage in the event they put the insurance company at risk for their errors. Just thought I would try to help

I had commerce insurance and they can rot in hell! My car was stolen. Engine, wheels, system, transmission, seats. Cops found it 2 days later down the street from me. Bastards as commerce thought I stole my own car! I had the club, alarm & kill switch.$15,000 car. I filed a claim. Had a lawyer and up to the last week before jury court my lawyer backed out! I was pissed. I would have won that case no doubt. But it's because the asshole agent screwed up my paperwork.

MA Division of Insurance in Boston. You can mail in a complaint or go on the website, ma.gov/doi or call the consumer number. You will need to have all of the information, dates and documentation if they are going to look into this for you. They are not attorneys, but they are the consumer advocate when it comes to these types of things. They are objective and have no stake in the outcome either way.. they are the regulators who preside OVER insurance companies. They will contact the insurance company who will then have to explain the reasoning behind the denial. If the division finds that in denying the claim, the company was in violation of a statute or regulation or did not adhere to the auto contract, the insurance company will have to re-open the case and more than likely issue payment.

That is one of the problems when it comes to insurance claims. If you deal with an agent, you have to make sure you select the right one. You are better to deal directly with the insurance company if you have any questions, not the agent. I have delt with many insurance companies with my past job and there were only a select few that actually knew what they were talking about.
What bothers me about this report is that people always pull out the race card! In this case, I do not think their race played any role in why the claim hasn't been paid. It is just comes down to the fact that Commerce is really not the best insurance company for customer service. I have friends of all races who had problems with the company. This country has to stop using the race card unless their is CLEAR CUT evidence of racism.

This is not exactly new news. Commerce has been screwing people and getting away with it for quite some time. I know of several doctors and lawyers who have yet to be paid by Commerce Insurance from care given over 2 years ago. Hopefully with new choice insurance, we can get rid of Commerce once and for all.

I dont have Commerce,I have Saftey insurance. And neither company is good. I was in a car accident which was not my fault the police report even said i was not at fault. Any ways Commerce is giving me a run around and Safety wants to settle it 50 50. I got a lawyer. I have pictures if my truck and the scence. And from the pictures it shows that he was on my side. so yeah i think both company sucks

I have commerce insurance. During the Ice storm I recieved some damage to my home. I guess you have to file different claims to have the damage repaired. Beside the rude treatment I recieved, I now have to pay a $500.00 for each incident. So guess what, it'll rot and when the damn house falls down then I'll pay their deductable.

It's been a month since they recovered my car the car was recovered no major damage only window and cd player missing and still commerce insurance is investigating,,,,,, omfg!!! give me my 300$ for i can fix the dam window and replace cd player and we can move foward and curtomer service sucks... i dealt with jeffrey lachappele he is one big idiot....

get rid of commerce insurance company for your auto insurance they will put all after market parts on your car or go to a body shop thats not on there refferal list that shop will fight for new parts commerce insurance drive in center in milford mass do not go there and do there work for them the appriaser there is a dope his name is james kennelly every autobody shop noes this dope he a insurance company man he for commerce insurance not for u

Thanks for the info.insurance only look out for themselves.if they can do anything not to pay out money then that is what they want.they make it extremely hard for you to get what is rightfully yours,in hopes you will give up.when are they finally going to be stopped.

Do not trust Commerce! They have lied, delayed and made endless excuses to avoid payment of an auto claim that should be a clear cut payment. Representatives of other insurance companies consider Commerce to be an embarrassment to their industry.

Commerce is like nothing I've ever seen in my life! My car was hit in a parking lot. I came out of the store and my car evidently had been hit. Yellow paint on the door and much of my white paint scraped off the door handle. I have full collision and full comprehensive coverage, so regardless of WHAT hit my car (whether it was another moving vehicle, a vandalism situation, or someone rammed a shopping cart into my car) it should have been covered. I filed the claim the morning after it occurred on 8/7/2011. They sent an adjuster to look at the car. The auto body shop ordered the parts. a week later I got a letter from Commerce saying that they needed to send an investigator to look further into the situation. fast forward to the middle of September. So the broker called me and I explained to him that I would need someone to come to my home in the evening or on the weekend. He said that was no problem. He told me he'd get back to me to schedule the investigation. 1 Week went by and I heard nothing from him. I called and he said, "Oh don't worry, we can just take a recorded statement from you over the phone. No need for someone to come to the house". So I did my recorded statement over the phone. 2 weeks later I get a letter from Commerce denying my claim. The reason? I did not cooperate with "the investigation". Also, "Upon a 2nd inspection of your vehicle, it was determined that you supplied false information in filing this claim. The paint found on the car was not from an automobile". Okay, so what? Perhaps it was a shopping cart? or a baseball bat? The made this determination based on the fact that there are not many yellow cars and the paint is yellow. They implied that I lied. What pisses me off is the fact that Steven Montville the broker from Commerece stated that no one needed to come to my home. Yet, somehow according to the letter I received, Christopher Borelli conducted a 2nd investigation of the vehicle. Could these assholes have looked my information up on facebook and found where I work and gone there, found my car in a parking lot and conducted an investigation without my knowing? To make a long story short, I am furious. In the process now of dealing with the Massachusetts insurance complaint people. I intend to fight this till the end. 10 weeks and I'm STILL dealing wtih this claim! If I need to sue these bastards, I will!

The recent Verizon practice of charging the customer $1 to take their payment electronically raises a question in my mind about Commerce insurance, which charges me $1 for electronically taking my payment directly from my checking account every month. I have been a customer for a long while, and when i complained to them they gave me the usual "sorry you feel that way" and "there is nothing i can do" ughhhhhh!!!!!
