Great post!
Mastic Beach has 5,400 houses, which makes the lame MBPOA scare bulletin even more ridiculous.$800 more in taxes per house times 5,400 houses=$4,320,000 per year...which is 2.3 times greater than Huntington Bay WITH a police department.

MBPOA is scared....but not of higher taxes!

First they have to find a lawyer willing to take the appeal. Who knows if Leo is willing to continue with a loosing argument. Secondly, to file the appeal is $20k for the filing alone. It may be cost prohibited.

Then again, these are the people willing to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for fear that taxes will go up a couple of dollars a year. Which no taxes will go up.

I doubt MBPOA will appeal since the costs are astronomical for THEM. They have mailed out a flier, which makes ridiculous claims of dire consequences if we become a village. I think this is known as blowing your wad.

The MBPOA was financed by local realtors when they filed the original 78b.
There is a lot of money being made on slumlord rental houses in Mastic Beach.
The local real estate companies in Mastic Beach make more than 25-30 thousand dollars a month on renting houses in Mastic Beach.
Why would they not appeal?
They want the lucrative slumlord rental business to continue, and if it means filing an appeal so you and me can't vote to decide our own futures, then that's exactly why they will file an appeal.

Ok, so lets say they can get the money. They still need a lawyer to agree to take the case.

It is just too bad that the members of the MBPOA have no say in how their money is spent. There is a dictatorship run by Mr. DeBona and his Board of Directors that feel they can do anything they want without coming to the members.
Pretty sad.
Do you think you will have a say as to how the money will be spent in "the village of Mastic Beach"? If you answered YES, then you are uninformed! VOTE NO!!

Oh please get over yourself already. Just another scare tactic. The elected officals will be accountable to everyone. Just because King Bob and his court jesters spend money at will doesn't mean a mayor will

How long will it take for the judge to set a date if in fact he is the one to set it?

You concern yourselfs on the budget . You seem to look at slumlords numbers but cannot put fourth a proper budget. This is why so many oppose a village because you can not cover expenses on what is proposed and in the end that will sink it .

Did you think long on that post ,blowing your wad you uneducated wanker. They can start a number of actions and even see that if they may be covered by thier insurance provider. Glad they read these post to check that one out . There is no consideration and a document drafted so long ago may not be enforcable today. Did not read it but they may be able to donate the shed to satisfy this thing. Where does it revert back to when if a village is formed my estimate it will make 3 years at best. They may be able to ammend it that all generated revenue goes to them for 99 years like the panama canel,so keep guessing you idiots that dont know that this thing can quash on 10-15 seperate actions ,Hey MBPOA check out you insurance declaration page and see if you are covered as the village is causing a loss if adopted.

The village is being formed to enforce zoning, planning, and quality of life issues. The village does NOT want the marinas or the damn clubhouse. The only reason I bring this up is because that is the reason the A78 was filed....nothing else. If the MBPOA and the village can reach an amenable compromise, that would not bother me.

BTW-hope you have a losing day tomorrow in court. Say hello to Judge Pitts... Oh wait, you are not her..never mind.

You are responding wrong and Alex has awarded me because I have been correct on that and the sham of a budget. You have lost your position as a good contestant due to the lack of knowledge of goverment and as you were not allowed to google it was not able to hit the buzzer- You will have a much greater award the parting gift of free twinkies for a year, something a herd of cows seem to enjoy -you lose on all fronts-
