Mixed vibes on body shaker

Full story: Newsday.com

Remember those machines from the 1950s that jiggled a person's fat in an attempt to rid the body of cellulite? These days, a more sophisticated generation of those machines, which vibrate the entire body, is ...

I am a Personal Trainer, and a very skeptical one at that. After seeing the results my wife has experienced using the Power-Plate for about three months (decreased cellulite, disappearing vericose veins, firmer musculature and better sleep paterns), I am totally convinced that it works. So much so that I am now a Certified Sales Agent for Power-Plate, and have ordered two for my own training business. I might add, my wife has used Power-Plate in Paris, where there are numerous studios, and there is a waiting list to get in.

I was Power-Plates Product Manager in 2004 , and it must be said that Rubin has a right to be angry over the misuse of his studies. Along with that Power-Plate has also attached awards , celebrity endorsments , specs and engineering reports that do not belong to their machines.
I even had a unit tested and it came up with a %38 error rating at the hull as opposed to what was being displayed on the board. A complete fail.
The units those awards and specs really belong to are metal ( Dutch ) not plastic ( China ).
I faced off to Power-Plate about these issues and was told to keep quite. I refused and instead set up Vibra-Train to continue my own research into obesity.
If you doubt this then please take a look at the awards etc.. they claim to have won , then check the release date of the Power-Plate N.G. All misleading or just plain untrue. And everyone involved in Power-Plate know this. They are told to keep quite and not answer e-mails with queries surrounding these issues.
People please do your homework before you deal with anybody who would sell this unit.
And shame on you Jim Wilson for helping them.

i believe there is some thing to this vibration therapy.I also agree that the body should only be submitted to low vibe.Stimulation is stimulation. Why do we as humans always have to go to the extreme to get the same benefit?

Yes it has. There is a great deal of documented research to support the benefits. You can go to the following site and see a section of a news video regarding osteoporosis:www.wsmv.com/vide o/10228135/index.html

Thats a new one.

No , i put Power-Plate on notice that if they didnt change their mis-marketing campagn i would leave. Set up against them , and pull them to pieces. Which i have done.

I am in court with Power-Plate very soon. When i have , and when a definitive legal answer can be given. I will put your Full Name on my forum and others i write to, as another person who is clearly dishonest and willing to spread lies for Power-Plate.

But if you are telling the truth I wont. Deal ?

In the mean time. Prove yourself to be an honest person and answer any of the following.

Awards attached to a machine released in 2004 from F.I.B.O. in 2002 ?

Specs from a unit tested in 2001 ( in Germany, metal ) attached to the new Chinese model ( plastic )?

Why did Power-Plate claim its new Next Generation unit was from Europe when in fact it was built in China.( I have proof from original marketing of " made in Europe " , along a signed affidavit from a Power-Plate CEO admitting the product was indeed made in China )

Celebrity photos used from other models.

Engineer reports from other units ( steel ) used to sell Power-Plate NG ( plastic )

No mention of the units dropping a full 10hz when loaded with only 80kg. Which makes ALL of Power-Plates own programs null and void.( this has been proven by independent uni-tests ) This also means you have a weight loss machine obese people cant use ?

Time to show people you are not just another Power-Plate con-man. We await your reply.

I have linked this site to a larger blog, so all can view Jim Wilsons name and location of trade ( Denver CO ). His alliance and support of Power-Plate , despite its highly unethical behaviour will now be a matter for public record.

His choice to not even attempt to answer any of the above questions leaves little doubt to his guilt in helping cover up the facts surrounding the Power-Plate NG.

Hmm... and this tells me nothing. I know I've been fired before for b.s. politics not because I was doing something wrong. That you fired him does not prove you're right. Maybe if you could say why he was fired... Also, you imply that he was not telling the truth when you asked "why don't you just tell them the truth..." Um... I don't recall him saying anything to the contrary. What an shamefull thing for you to suggest! Yeah, I'm not getting the best opinion of you. Signed, a potential customer of your n.g.

You believe? Based on what? Do you have any knowlege of the workings of the body? You can not say stimulation is stimulation. Lower frequencies can be harmful. Ever heard of a glas breaking when an opera singer hits just the right pitch? If you haven't, do some more research before writing to the public about a hunch. I dunno, you may just have out-researched me instead. Anyway, I'm no vested party, only a lover of the truth.

Yes one of the problems I had with Power-Plate was their unwillingness to apply ISO 2631 regulations to their programs ( I changed them anyway while I was in charge ).
This became even more of an issue when test results showed the Next Generation model was not doing as displayed on the panel.
So resonance FQs could not be avoided .

Sorry but the problems will be ongoing.

But try the Fq inverter first. Thats usually the first thing to go. If that is fine then you may find the power supply boards are shot.

Any electronics machanic should be able to help.

But now you have made the problem public , Power-Plate may help you.
Thats what it seems to take for them to do the rihgt thing.

Are you the same J.Wilson that responded to a Dr. Daniel Avivs e-mail to info@powerplateusa.com. on 7 Dec. 2005

His question was : Where is the Power-Plate manufactured ?

J.Wilson ( sales manager for Power-Plate USA ) answer was:
The Powerplate is manufactured in Belgium and Switzerland.

Meanwhile the CEO of Power-Plate N.Z. signed an affidavit for the district court ( 25 Nov 2005 ), her statement says,
" The Power-Plate Next Generation is made in China. Everybody associated with my company... was fully aware the machine was built in China "

Hey again Lloyd, I posted on some diet forum also but just incase you dont see that one I'll try and get it here. I am a sucker for neat advertising (as probably most of the western world is!) and convinced my father to look into a power-plate. He is known in Harrods, tried it, enjoyed it, bought it for the family. Will this unit cause us long-term harm? I am skeptical because with new products like this how can you tell the long-term effects?! I play bass-guitar and bought a power-ball to improve the strength in my forearms and after using it 3 times a week for a few months, mon, wed, fri for about 15 minutes each side it has worked. My shoulders are bigger and stronger (cured the 2ndary tendonitis I had in my right shoulder) my neck muscles look bigger, my arms even look bigger, and my forearms are stronger. A couple of my fingers however are slightly more twisted than usual and I fear this is irreversible! I stopped using the power-ball. So my question is, have you encountered any harmful effects the Power-plate (personal) has had on anyone using the machine correctly? ie, as instructed with the positioning etc.

No , Vibrations at incorrect Fq do not cause short term damage, so would not expect any cases to be apparent yet .
We are talking about 12months + here.

But i have interviewed a couple of people who have injured their backs doing a sit-up poses , on home units , when forgetting to put a mat down. But this is human error.

Can anyone tell me if they are aware of any skin problems associated with the PowerPlate after several times use on the Machine. I am referring in particular to the leg area. Can damage be done after the vibrations.

Cheers
