What contract? Under threat of Jail? Is that considered a valid agreement?

One needs to check out when the order was allegedly violated. Was the one year up? Or was there some violation in that one year? What Order is it alleged that Nancy V. violated; and is that why she was put in jail? Or is it because she fought back against the system. Again, the child is what is important. It is all about the children, isn't it? What kind of father would want the mother of his child to go to jail for six (6) months? Did the Court appoint a lawyer to represent the child's interests?

Also, the March 1999 decision was not affirmed. It was reversed because Nancy V. was denied a hearing and the Appellate Court found that custody could not be removed without a hearing. This was when she was a resident of the State of Florida. Then after the Appellate Division reversed the case because the Judge did not give Nancy V. a hearing, with such reversal costing in excess of tens of thousands of dollars, Nancy V. was sent back to Court to litigate the custody and visitation issue once again. That cost tens of thousands of dollars. The Court's must do more to provide due process and hearings before removing a child or for that matter taking any action. Is Nancy's jail term in this child's best interest? What kind of father would allow the mother of his child to go to prison for 6 months for a delay in returning the child for a few hours? Why didn't this Court appoint a lawyer to represent the child's interest?
