I lived in Shirley many years ago. I moved out becuase of all the losers and welfare trash in Shirley and Mastic. I went to William Floyd HS.

I got my @ss kicks a few times by the Gangs in the William Floyde HS.. Yes there were gangs in WF HS. They stole my $, jacket, shoes, and then it happened all over again.

Why would anyone let there kids go to that trashy ghetto school? You gatta be the same trash if you let your kids go to mastic Shirley schools.

Some of us moved here from other places and were attracted to the affordable prices and promises that the area was on the upswing. I did not attend school here and worry every day when I send my daughter off to school. Kids are rotten all over and parenting skills can be questionable in any area. I'm doing my best to stay on top of what happens with my child at school by monitoring her academic and social progress. Making sure she does not become either a victim or an aggressor. In this economy there is not much else I can do. We can't all pack up and leave, it's not financially possible. I'm glad you got yourself in a better place. Wish us luck.
