A Wal-Mart in Patchogue is a GOOD thing. It is perfect for the type of people in the surrounding area. Keep it away from Bellport.

If you really believe Walmart is a good thing for ANYONE watch this documentary. And if you still think Walmart is okay, or if you can even stomach looking at one ever again, then thats your right. BUT you should at least be informed. Ignorance is bliss though.

Yes, I'm sure someone does.

Are you kidding? Riverhead is about 15-20 minutes away?

Count your blessings, once a big chain store opens up in your area others will follow......and then you'll have a fricken city-like atmosphere.

Most people are against the chosen location on Hospital Rd. more than another Walmart in the area. Especially when there is an abandoned outlet mall just one exit away.

I just looked it up on the web, there is no one named RESIDENT living in zip code 11772. Therefore, no one is against Wal-Mart in that area.

Thanks for the info!!!

You can request a "NO WALMART" yard sign or more info contact epwalmartfree@aol.com
NOTE Any written comments about this project must be presented to the Town Planning Board 1 Independence Hill, Farmingville, NY 11738 Attn: Vincent Pascale, Chairman BY January 18th.
This project requires a parking variance which would is a perverse twisting of our current zoning laws for a J4 and J2 parcels. Wal-Mart also wishes to remove the sidewalks from the Hospital Rd bridge. They have submitted a terrible DEIS plan ( which can be viewed on the town website) and bus seniors from La Bonne Vi to support the project giving them a roast beef sandwich, and blue tote bag.
We as a community (residents, business owners, students, and staff of local businesses) deserve better. The DEIS should not be a joke, Wal-Mart is obligated to provide a comprehensive study with real stats and not the fluff they wrote! SHAME ON THEM!

Wal Mart is too good ( and expensive) for the breathing pieces of crap that are patchogue residents.

It will increase the property values in that hell hole of a town, where the residents are demons.

Fact is, patchogue is the only place on the planet where property values decrease the closer you get to the water.

Hey now bro, I was born and raised in Patchogue, watch what your saying. I can live anywhere in the world, most places for much less, but I choose to live here. Sure, I could live in Hawaii for less, but why would I do that? I'll take Main St on Patchogue over Maui anyday ada week. Okay, so there may be no culture here, but New York City is only two hours and an expensive train ride away. Plus if I want to go to a beautiful beach all I have to do is drive to a crowded, pricey ferry and I can visit anytime I'm not working three months out of the year. Or I can take my boat, which I've sunk tens of thousands of dollars into for gas, repairs, and docking fees, and can only use for like 20 out of 365 days. Patchogue is a great town, what it lacks in landmarks, nature and museums it more than makes up for in pizza parlors, dollar stores and high property taxes. And I know there is nothing but an empty lot used for illegal activity on Hospital Rd., but I'm definately against a Wal-mart there. I don't care how many jobs or visitors it brings in to town, I'm okay with all of the other corporations (7-11, Lowes, Mcdonalds) over there, but NO WAL MART BRO

Everyone in Patchogue is poor, not just with money, but also mentally and culturally. Wal Mart knows this, they have an entire committee dedicated to finding the most depressed areas to open new stores.

They know from experience that Patchogue scum will not only shop there, but work there too.

How many Wal Marts are there in East Hampton and Montauk?

It's cheaper to live in Hawaii than Patchogue! Look it up!
