This is the last place I would eat. The entire staff from family/owners to the high school kid working the register are rude. There food is average like any other restaurant on long island where the food is prepared by Mexican day laborers

One thing that cant be argued is they treat their employees like crap. They go through employees because they are mean, dont like to give breaks, and underpay. Ask any employee on the side not related and they will tell you the same. Especially women. Go feed you fat stomach but realize all those people in that facility are in hell.

When you tip the wait staff, half goes right to the house. You have to turn in all the tips and then pick it up later in the week after the house takes its vig.

I just had a prom there last night and honestly the food wasn't even that great. it was decent I guess but I've had better at a monthly fire dept meeting where the members are just cooking because they're hungry. besides that, I walked away from my table for a bit and several things from my jacket that I left on my chair were stolen, and the only people who walked passed it that night were the staff. it doesn't take a rocket scientist to put 2 and 2 together and see that it was the staff who stole my personal belongings.

Never had a decent meal or acceptable service at a Lombardi establishment, and I've given them a number a chances. Everyone I've ever known who's worked for them has had horror stories and I've employed a number of these people, so I know personally that they're excellent employees. They actually bought land to try to force a competitor out of business, but still had to wait for the competitors' lease to run out. They're even so pretentious as to list their address as on "Old Patchogue Holbrook Road", but I'm sure the maps and signs will go on calling it Main Street.

They fired a bartender because he"leaned" on the bar. They treat their employees terribly Have you ever seen a female waitress in restaurant-no and you never will because I know for a fact that they will not hire females in the restaurant-only good for pizza orders. They yell at the staff in front of customers. They charge extra for EVERYTHING-a tablespoon cup of sauce for a calzone...c'mon really..don't think it will break them. The son "prances" in the pizza section, and sneers the whole day, never ever saw him smile. Their food is good but Holbrook has a lot better-try Mama's where the staff actually talks to you. They would stab their own mother in the back if they could...

used to spend a few benjamins a month in holbrook. One day I stopped for a late takeout supper the kid at the counter wanted to charge me 2 bucks for garlic on a meatball hero. Called the manager over told him I got garlic on any kitchen order I wanted in the past 20 years now you want to charge me 2 bucks for it. I said forget the order walked out. That was 5 years ago. Never went back. They got a good 20 years from me it was time to move on anyway.

May be a Holbrook thing. Tony and Sons Paving is just as bad. Terrible work and even worse customer service. Communities should shun people who do business like this. Antonio Gonzalez owns this business and after more than 10 calls he never responded personally to do repairs on New Work. Yes--repars on new asphalt work. These people should lose their license to operate in our communities.

I find it amazing that the terms and conditions of this forum state that inappropriate comments will be removed by the moderator. How are words like "guinea," "faggots," and "wap (sic)" enen remotely appropriate? This is not mention other, even more disgusting, references to the gay community. I was looking for unbiased reviews of a restaurant and instead discovered a forum of bigots!

I lived in Holbrook for 45 years and when they first opened up (the actual pizza, restaurant and catering) we went to eat there and felt the food was overpriced -fast forward and my girlfriend had her daughter's wedding there and the food was outrageous!!! Delicious beyond words and I am Italian myself... There are many "pizza joints" on Long Island and now that we live in Riverhead I was wishing for an Upscale dining Italian Restaurant to come out here as there is not one here-and yes, they are opening a Lombardi Marketplace in Aauabogue but I wish they would open another Italian Restaurant right on Route 58 as this is the place to be... Any family that can produce continually terrific meals and wedding catering deserve every bit of there incredible success - they must be doing something right!!! So kudos to them!!!

ok I also feel I have to add to this forum. I live in Holbrrok, and do think Lombardis has wonderful food. We eat at their Easter Buffet at the Villas every year for the past 5 or 6 years now...myself a bit reluctantly for a few reasons. My mom passed away from brain cancer 3 years ago she ABSOLUTELY loved the food at Lombardis...two months before she passed away she was in the hospital on Easter Sunday and our family of 16 was having the buffet and then heading over to the hospital to see her, we explained the situation to the manager that our mom was dying and could we pay the $62.50 for the buffet and have THEM pack up a small takeout dish so we could bring it to her since she LOVED their food so much. They refused. we do not pack up food to take away they told us..we were not looking for a doggie bag we were willing to PAY $62.50 for a small dish of food just so she could enjoy what was to be her last Easter dinner...REFUSED!! told us to go to the pizza place to get a take out dinner....after we jsut dropped $1000 in their establishment ...how we even go back there and give them our business is beyond me but majority rules and everyone loves the food. but that was HORRIBLE... a dying woman and they refused. My daughter has worked for Lombardis on two occasions. Once 6 years ago as a teenager in The Market, and had such a horrible experience, being treated poorly, she ended up quitting. She more recently took a job as a hostess at Lombardis on the Bay in Patchogue and had $120 and cigarettes stolen out of her purse that was left inside the podium where she stood. Now of course you can't blame the Lombardis for this, but when she discovered the missing items and reported it to them, they called her a liar and told her NO ONE would EVER steal in their establishemnt. She wasn't looking for Lombardis to replace anything but just to acknowledge it happened and to look into the incident. they refused...she ended up quitting there as well. I am sorry... they have lost touch with humanity. and the only thing keeping them going is the quality of their food.
I am considering taking a banquet bartending position at Villa Lombardi's this season. How do the bartenders make out over there? Do they pool their tips?

Absolutely the worst restaurant in all my days....... They served stale bread which we refused.....and filled the soda glasses FULL of ice...... when we suggested they remove some of the ice......we were told..."Managements' orders" full ice at all times..........they did however comply........ but come on.....how chintzy can you get....... seems the bottom line is the almighty dollar $$$$......two in our party had the shrimp dish (at least it was advertised as such) we complained it didn't taste like shrimp......(jury still out on that one )...... Management removed one shrimp ?... order from bill....... STAY CLEAR of this place ...... I don't know if Mama Lombardi's restaurant (a four star establishment) that we've frequented, is connected to this place...but they sure are giving That place a bad reputation.......
