Holtsville, Faarmingville? Does it REALLY matter?

Lighten up people. You spend all day whining on a chat board. It must be nice not to have to stand on a street corner and beg for work.

Well I am pleasantly surprised to see a correction in the paper today that the Newsday reporters covering the story were fed misinformation from the police and that the incident happened in Holtsville. Farmingville has enough problems without more being heaped on.

Thanks Newsday. This is certainly a breath of fresh air and I hope the start of a new era that will continue, reporting the "just the facts."

"I don't even know if people in this country illegally like me can get insurance," he said. "I'm not asking for anything from strangers, except that I want them to help find the driver so that he can be tried for the crime he committed."

I find it ironic that this illegal wants the person who hit him to stand trial for it. After all Mr. Reyes is a criminal himself. He snuck into this country illegally. Why is he not arrested for his crime? Don't get me wrong people if the police are able to find who did this they should be arrested. You can't just run someone over and take off, but there definitely is a double standard here. Why is this automatically being considered a hate crime? Judging upon where this happened, there is a very realistic possibility that poor Mr. Reyes was hit by one of his fellow illegals, and they did not stop for fear of being deported.

Steve Levy this guy admitted he is here illegally!!! arrest him and his friends that live and work here and send him back home. Of coarse make the person who hit him responsable for the injuries!!!

Day labors is an incorrect term. American job takers is more like it. In the past 5-10 years I have seen jobs go from Americans to an illegal work force right in front of my eyes. All of there housing that they live in is overcrowded slum lord rentals. In some cases there employer is also their land lord. The employer-land lord then repeats the process buying another business and another house to rent. It is amazing our elected officials are letting this happen to America right before our eyes!!!

The reason why the low life politicians let it go is for the fact that the Slumlord/Businesses that employ the Illegal Aliens are funding their re-election campaigns.

"As details of the case emerged, it renewed discussion about Farmingville, which gained attention for being the site of two violent attacks on day laborers in recent years. "
Wrong again. While there was a house burned down in Farmingville (by some kids shoooting fireworks at the house, not the "fire bombing" Newsday keeps calling it, the other attack occured in SHIRLEY by a man from Queens and another from Holbrook. No legal Farmingville resident had anything to do with the attack.

I saw this illegal on TV ! It's amazing , we know his immigration status and he still walks away to do as he pleases with the rest of them ! This is redicilous !! Write this crummy east end congressman and tell him to sign the" SAVE ACT "pettion and stop pandering to ILLEGAL ALIENS ! The SAVE ACT in in congress now , it all about enforcing our immigration against Illegals and emloyeers who hire them ! The Democrats are trying to railroad it and kill it ! They don't want any part of enforcing our laws in an election year ! They're trading your nation for hispanic votes ! Tell him to sign the petition or explain why not ???

It bothers me. I have been posting about it. He (along with thousands of others) are sending American tax free dollars out of the country. Obviously the government doesn't seem to care about the consequence of that.

The government doesn't care because no mater what, they will not lose their pensions or health care. We the tax paying Americans will continue to pay for that.

I think it is a slap in the face to people like my Grandparents who came to this Country when they were 21 and came here legally and went through all the channels to become American Citizens and were PROUD to become Americans. The learned English, they worked hard and they paid taxes. When their relatives came to visit from their native land they still spoke English, because they were Proud to be American.

Of course he wants them to be caught so he can sue and go back to Mexico a rich man.

The cops know where the masses of Illegals congregate, that's why, they thought it was " The other place".

These Illegal hopes we catch the Driver and we give him a trial to the full extent of the law. The nerve of this Clown, he's 3000 miles Northeast of where he should be and he wants justice. Why do we entertain this stuff. Throw him in a Cargo Hold back home.

I will fix the dent on any car before the cops knock on your door to any American that 'accidently' hits an illegal
