My heart goes out to the Stevenson family. As a parent of a selectively mute child this is one of my worst nightmares. Safety concerns are intensified for children with this disorder, because they are too anxious to ask for help. The school district should have a 504 in place to guarantee that this kindergartner, who cannot ask for help, is escorted in the halls and never left without adult supervision.

Tuesday July 8th the board of education is holding a special meeting to vote for raises for all the Asst Sups and Directors. They still do not get that we can not keep affording these raises

I could not access the article, so maybe I'm missing something here. But it sure sounds like she'd be beyond justified to sue the shit out of the school for money if she wanted to. That isn't a tiny, harmless mistake, ya know.
