We all agree that this woman and people like her are pure scum. But, we need to put our money where our mouths are and write our representatives to state how we feel about animal neglect and cruelty. We need to let them know that we want the MAXIMUM time and fine for these thugs. No letting them off midstream. Jail time works wonders. Please, please write your representatives about this important issue.

This woman should get the maximum sentence of 1 year (not enough) in
a cell with no food, no water, no
toilet so she can feel exactly the
same way these innocent creatures
felt and will know what starvation
feels like.....this is beyond cruel
......and she was an animal care-
taker....this woman is vile....
disgusting...obnoxious and should
have every nightmare possible so
that she always remembers what
she did to these dogs.....and should
never be allowed to have any other
animal.....I hope she does get a
prison sentence and when she is
released the SPCA will keep a watch
on this witch......
Stricter laws have to be made in
relation to animal cruelty....one
or two years in jail is insufficient
for the crime.......

Whats funny is that i had her watch my animals and paid very good money. Her business has been out of service since June of this year so something must have happened. I am glad i did not call her back. I seem to pick the winners but funny thing is she seemed to love animals and was trained by Ceasar Millan. I reported her as a fraud to his website. i would usually give people the benefit of an explaination but seeing those poor dogs and her ignorance of it made me very sad. She is a mother of 2 young children also.

This is so sick! How someone could do that to a helpless animal is beyond me. She deserves what she gets for this crime. I hope those wonderful dogs find loving homes!

Newsday - why did you delete my post? Because I said people should have both sides of the story, which this newspaper didn't provide? Censorship - really?????
#31 Nov 20, 2007
Ummmmm...what other side of the story could there possibly be??? The dogs asked her to starve them? Alien abduction and they sucked her brains out??? What.. enlighten me Joanne.

There's ALWAYS another side to any story. You think because the media reports it, that's it? There were extreme circumstances in this story. This woman would never intentionally desert her pets. Newsday didn't even try to talk to her - just reported what the ASPCA told them. When she's exonerated, Newsday won't report that either. Remember the couple in Medford who were charged with stealing and selling dogs? All charges against them were dropped. Newsday, and every other media outlet who crucified them, never reported that. Just don't believe everything you read - that's all I'm saying.

There is absolutely no situation which warrants animals being starved
and you can see by the pictures that
they hadn't eaten in a long long time.....she should have given them
to the SPCA if she was no longer
cared about them.....she deserves
to be put in a cell with no food..
no water...no toilet and see how it
feels....she is a disgrace to society.
The punishment does not fit the crime. WE NEED STRICTER ANIMAL

What was the point of posting this? Seriously - I don't get it.

So it appears Ms Bonnanno has a friend willing to come out from behind the woodwork and stick up for her.
How nice for Ms Bonnanno; too bad her dogs had to rely on the SPCA for friendship and kindness

No. A woman wouldnt do this would she? Must have been the wrong time of the month. Just tell the judge that. He/She will say its all right
#39 Nov 23, 2007
Yeah, Ms Bonanno is an angel..... look her up on the Suffolk Cnty Clerks site, and see that Nov 30th she has to face the judge for 5 counts of passing a bad check knowing there was insufficient funds, aggravated unlicensed driving, uninspected vehicle, speeding, failure to report to court, and more. Yeah, she's an angel that the judge on the animal cruelty case is going to Love to see in January...

maybe Ms Smith can explain how Bonanno will be exonerated from these charges as well? Can we please hear the 'other' side of this story? Since Newsday is obviously misleading us all Ms Smith, inform us as to why she left two dogs to die, or to at least figure out how to get the food from the closed cans on top of the closed cages?
