This is only the tip of the iceberg. There will be many more pet deaths than what is reported now. The pet food companies knew of animal illnesses back in Dec 2006, but did not act to safeguard the lives of our pets. The media is downgrading everything because it does not want to offend Proctor & Gamble. But the deaths will escalate because of the ignorance of the general public. Animal lovers, warn others of this pet food recall, it might save the lives of innocent souls that rely on humans for it's food and life. There is enough suffering in the world, we don't need to mourn our innocents pets also. Spread the word, the media will not.

Is there an easier way to find out the lot numbers that are recalled? If you go on the pet food websites, they don't load properly and the 800 number given out is always busy. Any suggestions?

So Much for the dependability of high priced so-called 'Premium' pet foods like Iams, Eukanuba, and Science Diet. Just more advertising hype with no basis in fact. The problem is they won't loose much because the lives lost aren't considered all that valuable. They should be sued as well for the emotional scarring inflicted on the human caretakers who bond with these beloved pets. Ask a small child how much their dog or cat was worth.

FYI: I went to supermarket this morning armed with a list of all the tainted foods....there were some still on the shelf. I spoke with the manager and was told they did not get any lot numbers on any of the brands of food that are tainted. This story broke on 3/16/07 they were just starting to pull the food off the self today 3/20/07. If anyone needs a complete list of the pet food that is involved in this recall www.7online.com best up to date one yet.

This is a blaring example of how Pet Food Manufacturers who claim to produce "premium" quality foods, do not even produce their own products. Shame on the industry for allowing such shoddy oversight. This tragedy is far worse than the Taco Bell fiasco, and should be dealt with appropriately. This negligence verges on criminal neglect.

I have lost 2 Boston Terriers in the past 1 1/2 months to kideny failure but they never ate wet dogfood!!! The did eat Science Diet dry dogfood and also treats like beggin strips and t-bones both name brand and the generic brands. I hope that these things get checked into. I don't want other pet owners to go thru the pain that we went thru.

My dog ate Nutro crunchies in the Holistic brand and has suffered signs of Kidney failure. The vet couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. He asked us if she drank anti freeze....She was peeing herself every once in a blue moon without noticing. Thank god I just switched her food a month ago. I dont trust those companies, or the fact that they say its just wet food and so on.

Not just wet dog food

The manufacturers are saying its just wet dog food but I'm very skeptical about that. My puppy is recovering from acute kidney failure and she was eating Science Diet dry dog food. The vet attributed it to a UTI she acquired before I adopted her but in light of this new information I'm not so sure that's what it was, and I will get to the bottom of this. Please don't just go along with the headlines on the news.
