Does anyone have any information on the car crash on Maple Island in front of Heritage Farm. I know Bruce Hallowell died, but how are the other people. From the rumor mill all over Hesperia nobody was suprised, because he evidently drives drunk a lot. This did not come from just a couple of people either, people at Wesco, Hesperia House and Ed's. Seems like he wasn't to well liked.

Well, hopefully the other people are okay- if anyone has information please post. Would be interesting to here the truth.

Wow! Way to listen to rumor and make judgement...that's terrible!!! Do you not think that his family is suffering terribly right now! Do you live in a glass house? Right now we all should be focusing on prayer for both families as I am sure all involved are struggling greatly with this tragedy.

Hey, I dont know where yall get your information but Bruce Hallowell was a great person. I worked with Bruce for many years and you could not ask for a more helpful, smart, personable friend. He will be greatly missed. Some may have not understood Bruce as he was demanding upon himself and the people that worked for him as he insisted upon perfection and wanted his customer to be satisfied. Bruce started a business from scratch and made a go of it in that lil town. He insisted upon doing the best job possible for his customers and loved his family to no end. Despite being a very busy man he would spend hours of his time teaching and helping me and everyone else in the shop how to staighten cars without recieving a dime from our employer. He will be missed greatly. My heart goes out to his wife and children and also the folks that were in the other car. God Speed my Brother, Paul Schmieding, Charlotte NC

You are a person that really knew Bruce. You hit the nail on the head with what you wrote.

Oh, my gosh you guys are oblivious to the truth. Fact- he crossed the center line and hit the other car and critically injured a little girl whose life has hardly began. Fact- he crossed the center line a little over a year ago and hit a woman head on (crushed both of her legs and she is still recovering).

He drove a little beat up blue car, and his wife drove the nice black chevy truck because she knew. She works in White Cloud 13 miles away from Hesperia and she drove the gas guzzler.

Yeah it looked like he quit drinking. The rest of the tox report will come out and the truth.

I am closer to the family than what you think.

Unfortunately he will not be able to walk his daughter down the aisle at her wedding in September-that is sad.

Hopefully the girl he hit will be able to walk down an aisle period! Please pray for this family

People sure have strong opinions. Here's another one
He WAS a drunk and did not care if he put other people's lives in danger. Didn't look like he quit drinking while he was sitting at Angelo's drinking a beer.

I am glad he has someone who will miss him-personally I am glad I do not have to worry about my son driving around Hesperia.

It is funny some of you swear by Bruce when on Muskegon's Craigslist Rant and Rave someone posted a listing about Bruce on July 2 complaining of his not being able to keep his car on the road. This was week's ago and someone predicted this situation.

I have lived in Hesperia and knew Bruce for many, many years. He hurt other people. Crossed into their lane. I hope the girl will be okay. not to much sympathy for his family. a lot of people knew he was a danger on the road.

At this point, it doesn't matter if Bruce was a good guy or not. Have a little respect for his family.

The whole situation is sad. But, Bruce was the one who crossed the yellow line and hurt other people. They did not ask to be hurt. With his past history with accidents, his wife knew of his bad choices and then getting behind the wheel.

I know the girl he hit head on last year and luckily they just settled on that lawsuit.

I think some people would think different about the situation if they had someone close to them that was hurt in the crash, knowing what EVERYONE already knew about Bruce!! Yeah its terrible for his family but it is also terrible for the people who were at risk everyday driving on the same roads with him, not knowing! He should of just stayed OFF the road!

Bruce (good or bad) no matter but he made a bad choice and this is not the first time as is my under standing. I am a cross country truck driver and i see more then my fair share of accidents and i get a look at what people do in their cars and you would not belive the number i see drinking and driving at all hours of the day, i dislike anyone that is under the influence of any drug and drives. by federal dot regs i'm not even allowd to take cough medicine and work if it can make me drowsy. fact is i feel for his wife and his children it is a hard thing to deal with I know first hand what is is like to have a loved one doing these things and not beable to talk sence to them. for those wondering it was my sister that he hit and my nice in critical conditon, all three of my nices were in the car that day and thankfuly the younger ones were nothing too serious they are ok and the one in the hospital is doing well all things considered and i am greatful for that. thak you for your prayors and please try not to argue too much over it. it was terrible any way you spin it and to often i see this on the road and hear over my cb radio other drivers bickering back and forth when no one knows what happened. it is made all the worse when people forget to care an accident is always sad for all involved and those they loved and for who loved them no matter whos fault it was. Please remember to be kind because we never know how long we have. god bless

I believe that 'uncle from Valmeyer, IL' is right. Everyone should be far more sensitive to the situation that they have been. Each family has suffered a loss or devastation of some kind. Is it fair to judge someone strictly on things that have or haven't happened in the past? I honestly thing that people should keep their opinions to themselves when the Hallowell family has suffered a loss already. Stop ragging on Bruce and let them grieve. Is it making you feel better by talking crap about a person that has passed away? I certainly hope not. My heart goes out to the family that was involved in the accident along with Bruce. I am praying for your family, as well as the Hallowell family. I know them, and it is very sad that Bruce won't be able to walk his daughter down the aisle this fall. But must you drag it up? Throw that in their face? No. That's not needed. Pointing out the obvious with something of that nature is not only cruel, but just immature. I don't condone what happened. And what may or may not have caused the accident. it's unfortunate that things like this happen. I don't understand why, and I don't pretend to. Everything happens for a reason, one way or another. Bruce was a great guy. Yes, he may have made mistakes, but he was still a great guy. He'd do anything to help out his family and friends, let alone people he didn't know. I'm glad to have known him. I just hope that we can all move past the judgmental bickering... I agree with the "Judge not, lest ye be Judged" Both families are suffering right now. Offer a little respect, support and sympathy.

Does anyone know the facts? People whom judge others, will have be judged themselves. Has these past posted comments (from the people who wrote them) ever thought about respect for the families? Have you ever lost a loved one? Shame on you!! You must have many issues yourself.
May God be with those involved and for a loss loved one is not easy at all...

Sorry, you are wrong I have lost someone close to me. They were hit by a drunk driver. I am not saying anything bad about his wife or his son or daughter, this is about Bruce. If Bruce was still alive I would say the same thing. And I checked out the Craigslist posting in July that someone had talked about and sure enough the person was complaining of Bruce being drunk and driving all over the road. This was before the accident happened. Very interesting, I think there was a pattern. And I hope the girls family receives the appropriate compensation for this.

To the uncle: For those of us who would like to send monetary funds to your niece's family to help them during this time- where can we send this.

Respect for the family is one thing, but like i said before, if it was you or your family he hit and all of the things people have known about him, you would feel different! I keep thinking that it could have been me or my family members hit! And everyone is saying he made a bad choice, it wasnt just one bad choice it was ALOT of bad choices and he continued to make them everyday! If he would have survived the cops, his relative, would have gotten him out of it just like the times before!

Daily Horoscope for November 27

Taurus

If you wake up early this morning after a strange sexual dream, don't worry. It's just Pluto digging deep into your psyche and it doesn't mean you are perverted. Dreams about sex are almost always about something other than the carnal desires; the language of the sleeping mind is almost entirely symbolic. You are normal, so carry on in good faith.
