Mr. Dan from Palmetto, Look at newsmanatee.com daily and you will see you are right. But, its no different today as it was a century ago. Its just that news announces it more. Most people are gullable and naive is why our own government can lie and we believe it. Wake up call is put any word and put 1910, put any date. You will find life was no different perhaps worse. Life is short, there is no change and never will be because our own government knows how to fool us.

I had researched this "fact" of crime rates down.

My finding were that they based the population on expected growth of the year 2009 before the downturn in the economy. Manatee county had a 23% vacancy rate of all the available dwelling in the county in Sept 2009. Yet they used the full occupantcy expected in 2009 before the downturn, because 2010 census figures are not in yet. it gives the elusion of a lower crime rate where in actuality, it is not and has increased a little.

Take for example Anna Maria Island is at 97% occupantcy in 2009, and the record shows the crime rate was 75% higher since 2006.

Clear the way: Could you please explain how you came to that conclusion of formula being used. It has always been actual population from which they gather a total crime index.

X Bradenton: Why would our government lie? The more crime in the area the more hand out's they receive from state and federal government.
