Bill To Commemorate Civil War Anniversary

South Carolina's observance of the 150th anniversary of the Civil War would be overseen by a new board under legislation approved by a House committee.

It's about time that something like this happend! If the blacks can have their black history month, then us whites can have something for us too. I say more power to you South Carolina in doing this..it's one of the smartest things you've done in over 40 years.

Honestly I say all of this is bullsh!t. Memories are great but spendindng money to commemorate something that has had long been forgotten or been overtaught in the textboks is ridiculous. We've got more statues, plaques, memorials, etc... that ya know what? I frankly couldn't care any less these days. Lets move on with the future and make a better life for all of us.

i would have thought the north would have been more interested in reenacting the a$$ kicking given to the south more so than the south wanting to repeat how they had gotten their a$$ kicked.

Before you know it, we'll have the exclusive Black Civil War Reenactment Club. They'll want exclusive time on the battlefields so they can make up historical "facts" to support their claims about how today's blacks have to take a stand against the tyranny their ancestors fought for (hint - it doesn't exist anymore Mr. black man).
I guess it really doesn't matter that the reason for the civil war was due to a southern seccession and had nothing to do with slavery INITIALLY.

LOL, They Commit treason,are defeated on the battlefield by the Army of the United States, and they dont want to remember those small details. If the United States had charged them with treason after the war we would not have these people today thinking treason against your country is OK.
