Fantastic! Here we have a new twist on an old concern... young people taking candy from strangers. In this case, we have a drug addiction being marketed as dessert.

"We tried the melon flavor, which was far smoother and less fruity than the popular apple," it says in the article. "After your mouth is parched from too much smoking, order a specialty drink."

This same strategy is being used to market flavored tobaccos to children and teenagers in your local convenience stores. If you don't belileve it is a problem, ask yourself just who is buying those watermelon-flavored cigars at your local convenience store.

I want to thank the Sun-Sentinel for contributing to this problem instead of finding a way to tackle the complex issue of tobacco use and its horrible consequences.

Thanks for contributing to the intelligent debate.

If all you can muster up are personal attacks, I'll put my educational credentials up against yours any time.

Put your money against mine, or your credentials.. we will see who will win. Your odds will not look good Barry.

Learn to keep your mouth shut, if you have nothing positive to say about another's business venture. Nobody goes out publically and insults your " quitdoc.com " website, because of respect. Have the same respect for other people's businesses. This is the problem with people who associate a "MD" tag at the end of their name. They think they are above the world; news flash - you aren't buddy! You are just somebody who went to years of University to become a doctor, but have no business/political/social sense. Get a grip, and join the real world, that is, if you arent too busy voting for Hillary.

If you dont like smoking, keep it to yourself, we dont want to hear it! Dont try and advertise your product on here, about quitting smoking. If you want to advertise your product, pay for it, the way any other SUCCESSFUL business would do.
Good Day Sir.

Smoking will kill you aren't you all aware of this?????!?!?! but it's definatly worth it for the years that i'm on this planet. Smokin is a life pleasure. Tellin someone not to smoke is like walkin into there house uninvited and telling someone how to live. We dont need that. So yay for the hooka bar, ill visit soon and share my support.

Peace, love, and anarchy

To imply that my dislike for an establishment that promotes tobacco use and addiction is somehow advertising my role as a physician helping people overcome that addiction defies logic! If I want to increase my customer base, why on earth would I waste my time on tobacco prevention?

And why, if I may ask, does pointing out the dangers of promoting this establishment qualify as "free advertising"? To me, the glowing, uniformed review published free-of-charge in the Sun-Sentinel is the hidden advertisment.

Hey doc, how about stating some facts rather than name calling. Do you have any idea of the absorbed nicotine or tar when you smoke a hookah? Didnt think so, because if you were educated you'd know its miniscule do to the fact of indirect heat compared to actual burning of a cigar or cigarette and hookah tobacco is A. free from those harmful cigarette additives and B. Some arnt tobacco at all. So go back to school and reeducate DOC.

First, regardless of what you are burning, it is the smoke that kills you. At a high dose... say a house fire... death from smoke inhalation is instantaneous. If is is at a moderate does... say from a campfire, most people have the good sense to walk away. In small doses, like tobacco smoking, you inhale tolerable doses over many years until it destroys your lungs. Congratulations on your skill!

Chemically, if you burn a hydrocarbon at a hotter temperature, you destroy more of the chemicals. So, smoldering tobacco burning at a lower, indirect temperature (such as hookah) is actually more dangerous. Couple this with the fact that the water lowers the temperature of the smoke (without filtering out the dangerous chemicals, including tar) allowing the smoker to inhale it more easily, and the risks are multiplied. Hooray!

Enjoy that "dessert"!
