In April, the city's downtown redevelopment agency gave the Greater Hollywood Philharmonic Orchestra $35,000 in tax funds to perform on the Fourth of July. Full Story

I wonder if he would be okay if someone didn't pay him because it wasn't convenient for them to write checks or take the time.hmmmmmmm. Make him wait for his money and see how it feels. Poor excuse - because he had a crisis in his famiy he is going to cause a crisis in many other lives as well and use his poor wife as the blame/reason/excuse for it.

This is absolutely inexcusable; when a person works they deserve to get paid, palin and simple. How dare Sherwood use the excuse that he has been taking care of his wife or that he attempt to turn it around and blame the musicians for supposedly not getting their tax papers to him on time? This is September already. Bad management at its best as is the rule rather than the exception is Hollywood. I guarantee you if it were the police or firefighters or employees of the City that weren't paid you would see picket lines. Disgusting! Go Hollywood, you represent everyone that is wrong with a City.

Isn't this the husband of the commissioner who got money from the City for home repairs and never repaid the money?
Seemlike a pattern here?.

Yes this does seem like a pattern. Lets keep an eye out for a nice developer to step in and suddenly become culturally sensitive and promote the Arts. That would fit the commissioners voting pattern.

This lady and the one who outsted Anderson seem like that have transformed from the concerned canidates running for public office. Now they seem like so much other S FLorida trash.

I hope the editors wake up on preferential treatment. The PD is saying civil matter. Perhaps they are rolling a softball.

This is a typical Hollywood story. With each silly situation that surfaces every week, I miss Martin Jarrolman (aka Chuck Vollman) and his cartoons more and more. The phoney phillistines at City Hall are perfect Mad Magazine material.

We voted for Mandated Change in the City and look what we are getting.
I could not tell the bill collectors that I am taking care of my family member and expect them to excuse me from paying my bills. When one goes to work the person in charge must be sure the staff in paid.

Maybe Mr. Sherwood could borrow the money from the Housing and Redevelopment Dept. He won't have to pay it back all he has to say is" I'm broke." They'll let it slide.

WSG Developer was given the go ahead for the Arts Parks and there is no money no background check. Thats' okay the Commissioners voted and gave him the project. They told him he didn't have to pay the 3.5 million dollar. Quote "We should be luck someone wants to build here." Isn't the nice. Right from the commission.

Stories in the paper about Hollywood keep coming. Nothing has changed and the Commissioners get offended when concerned residents speak out.

When is our Mayor going to do something about his promises he made to the people when he was running for election.

Mr. Mayor it is now September and nothing is being done about the Mandated Change you repeated so many times during your campaign.

The City Manager is not doing right by the people concerning the budget.

The commissioner who took Anderson seat should be ashamed of herself. She gives off negative energy when she speaks. She shows no concern about the issues the residents present. It is no different with Beam Furr . He is in for eight years and all he does he lie to the people (does nothing.) Negative comments and dividing an area into three seperate associations. Shame on Beam Furr. Eight years and nothing is done.

The Residents are angry and the City better start answering questions about what is going on behind close doors. The City is working very hard on keeping the facts from the people. There is a bad smell all around the issues. Corrupt Government.

Why bother paying musicians? After all, they love playing even for free. Of course, their creditors will understand and won't dun them for money.
