For all those so quick to blame Mark Cummins for the split at First Baptist Ocala, you might be interested to know there is now a group once again at First Baptist who are seeking to get rid of the pastor they have had for about a year. I guess you can't blame Mark for this so could it be there might just be other things going on at First Baptist Ocala which never had anything to do with Mark? There seems to be a group at that church that doesn't want any kind of change!

Just want to let everyone know that church of hope, Pastor Marks new church is growing more and more every week, we now are almost in need of 3 Sunday services because the 500 seat church is packed out the first and second services. Our youth program had more then 110 people last week, which is very good seeing the size of youth groups in Ocala are around 20 kids. Pastor Mark is the best pastor I have ever had. I thank God every day for letting me find this church. A few weeks ago we did our annual 3G ( gather, go and give) Sunday, where instead of Having a church service we went in the community and helped in projects, over 700 people showed up and helped, I would love to see First Baptist do that, please? Helping people or are you just going to sit around and look at what's wrong with other people. I am in high school and I see it, wake up and grow up people!! Let remember what a church is for, to teach about Christ Jesus, why don't some of you act like Christ. I know that there is )'(ope in Ocala, let's find it please. By the way the reason we exist is to partner with people to discover that in Chirst we have HOPE.

It saddens me to see all of these posts. I think it is going over board to say that Mark is the devil etc. I also hope that the church in Ocala is prospering and that Mark has learned some valuable lessons from his experience at FBCWH. I am happy to see people post in here that Mark has touched their lives in a positive way. I am sad to say that I saw him do the opposite with my own eyes in south Florida. Not only was I a member but my parents played a big role in getting him the head pastor job of the church when he moved from Pa.

Mark is a great looking and smooth talking guy and it is very easy to like the guy because of his personality. As far as some of the Ocala people defending him, I am glad he has made a great impression on you. I have no idea how things have been going for him since he left Hollywood. Hopefully he did not come in and destroy your church as he did mine. Hopefully he did not come in and stand on your pulpit and publicly badmouth your former pastor like he did mine. Hopefully he did not have members and pastors on staff physically removed and threatened like he did at FBCWH. Hopefully he did not hire lawyers to come in and change the wording in the legal documents to make it where he answers to nobody but himself like he did at FBCWH.

Hopefully he did not stand up and lie to your congregation and use the pulpit as a political venue to try and get people to back him and turn against members and pastors of the church when they found out what he was up to.

His Disciple - You have no idea what happened at FBCWH and it would be in your best interest to keep your mouth shut in questioning the integrity of those people who Mark had issue with. You do not know the circumstances surrounding the happenings that went on. Mark was very deceitful in his dealings with many people. My family and I backed him at first until we found out what he was really up to. My parents both resigned and moved out of state in the middle of all of it. Others were fired and others stayed and fought for their church home. Many backed Mark at first and then began to see his true colors. It was no longer about preaching the gospel. It was about Mark Cummins and then people very rapidly began seeing what was really going on. At that point Mark ran for the hills.

I feel very sorry for his wife and daughters. Our family loved them and they were all 3, very sweet. I am sorry that they had to see their father and husband go through something as big as that. They stood by his side the entire time and backed him just as they should have. Sadly, most of what they saw was only one-sided and probably thought the people down there were all horrible.

I truly hope Mark did not go to Ocala and do the same thing. I really liked Mark when I first met him. He has the potential to bring many people to Christ but he has to get past himself before he can truly be used by God.

Nobody in here has been brave enough to let on to who they really are. My name is Matt and if anybody cares to discuss this situation further you can email me at Matt@fireandlawnrescue.com

@ Aaron - That is awesome that so many people showed up to help. I know you are excited and that is a great thing. Stay that way. It sounds like Mark is doing a great job there. As far as you judging the church in Hollywood, I would ask that you not do so. You have no idea what those people went through. It is understandable that they are hurt and they do not want to see other churches go through what happened to them. Just so you know that church had a huge local out reach and also a huge missions out reach. They sponsored missionaries to many many different countries. Mark took those sponsorships away from the missionaries. Some of those sponsorships were also retirements for former pastors. He took their retirements away as well. He hurt a lot of people. He obviously hasn't done that in Ocala and I am thrilled for you guys that he has not. Just remember, people go through different circumstances in life. Many of us went through very hard times with Mark leading our church. Many people were forced from a church home and career for no reason other than they did not agree with Mark coming in and mishandling money, or hiring attorneys to change wording in legal documents that left him accountable to no one.

I understand your loyalty to him as you have no been through those same circumstances with him. However, before you begin to judge a big group of people you should know that the circumstances surrounding the events that took place are probably much different than the one sided story you may have gotten or the person you may know Mark as.

Just something to think about.

This is in response to The Truth, who addressed me concerning some of my comments. I have never responded to anything regarding FBCWH. I was a member at FB Ocala when Mark became the pastor. I am very aware of everything that went on at First Baptist Ocala. Since you say you do not know anything about the situation in Ocala, please do not make false accusations to anyone who posts a comment regarding First Baptist Ocala and Church of Hope. All I can tell you is that Church of Hope is a wonderful Spirit filled church that is Pastored by Mark Cummings who preaches our Savior Jesus Christ and the Word of God every service. The mission trips and the outreach ministry to the community are unbelievable. It seems the preacher at First Baptist has had to do some "house cleaning" since he has been pastor there so that should tell you something about the problems at that church.

These men acted like a bounch of babys that had their candyntaken away from them, No good christian would stsnd up in front of a live sunday service and act like they did. they are not men and women of God. and better get down on their knees and ask God to forgive them and hope their lives are not going to be changed towards vengince May the good lord find it to forgive them For saintans workers are allways miserable.

For anyone who is full of hate towards Pastor Mark I suggest, if you are a Christ Follower, find a church you can serve the Lord joyfully in if you don't have one already. We who choose to go to Church of Hope will do the same. If you are a Christian, those who are also Christians and members of another church are your brothers and sisters in Christ and there should be no room for hate in the brotherhood of Christ. After all, Christ is Love. Do you have love in your heart? The Lord continues to bless the ministry of Mark Cummins and for that I am thankful.

GATOR, you need spiritual help. Obviously there is a lot of hate in your heart. If you have ever had any joy in being a Christian you have lost it. By the way, did you ever even meet Mark, much less attend a church where Mark is pastor?

You are all very confused and pathetic. Christianity is an archaic and dead religion!

There is no god, there is no jesus. There NEVER was a god and there NEVER was a jesus, just silly stories. Scientology is as valid as christianity is, and scientology is ridiculous.

You have all wasted your time. Move on for christ's sake!

This is in reply to Real Truth. Considering all of your comments about Christianity and everyone contributing to this blog wasting their time, my question to you is, why are you wasting your time commenting on a Christian oriented web site? That's your business if you consider Christianity a dead religion but I suggest you relate your opinions to people who are like minded with you. Those of us who are believers in Jesus Christ don't care what you think about our beliefs so find someone who is interested in what you have to say!

I have been attending Mark's Church for almost a year now and being a Christ Follower I know that it is not good to judge anyone. All of you who are judging him are WRONG and obviously do not know him. Mark is a great man and a excellent mentor. I believe in his works and will CONTINUE to attend his church. All of you who are speaking badly of him need to look yourselves in the mirror and see what you are doing wrong. No one is perfect and NO ONE has the right to judge anyone. Lets leave that up to GOD. God Bless you all and may he bring peace to your hearts since you seem to have hatred in them.

Funny. You say there is no God, etc. but then your next statement is "Move on for Christ's sake" Christ who.. Jesus Christ right?!? I feel that you are a lost soul who has been yet to discover the TRUTH of where you came from, etc. I hope and pray you discover the truth before it is too late. God Bless you.
