Doesn't matter what the outside pressure is, they should know better. Their parents aren't spending enough time teaching them what is right & wrong. Those boys are old enough to figure a way out of doing something they know is wrong. Punish them to the fullest and punish the parents too. Making the parents responsible may wake up more parents to the activities their children may be involved in. Make all of them serve mandatory of at least 1 year community service to the elderly.

I dont understand why the media is making a big deal about this. Both teens turned themselves in VOLUNTARILY. I know Kris and he's a popular kid who loves hanging out and playing football. This isn't like him! The fact that people now these kind of things are happening everyday and all over the world. Isnt it kind of odd how of all days that the alarm wasn't set? People act like the parents of these kids are horrible people and they're not. I know the parents and family personally and they are the most loving and giving people I've ever met! It's not the parents fault that this happened, but it was a chioce that they themselves have made. Their parents taught them much better. I think it just has to do with going through the rebel stage and tryin to show off to friends in school. Let's be honest with ourselves and think, at least once in everyone's life we've all sloten something. No matter how small and stupid it was, even if it was something like a pen from work, we've all done it. Not everyone gets caught and goes to the extreme, but we're all guilty. Even your kids have done it too! It sounds like a cry for attention and its sad that its not positive attention. I know that NO BODY is perfect and that we ALL have done something wrong, including the homeowners, but they're just 2 kids in high school that have their whole lives ahead of them. I KNOW they'll learn from this situation and that they KNOW what they did was wrong, that's why THEY TURNED THEMSELVES IN!

it doesnt matter who the parents are & how they were raised/they can come from a wealthy/poor family is who the kids hang out w/and the decisions that they make yes they are old enough to know what is right from wrong & yes they should be punished...
they shouldnt be talked about negative anymore...

I agree with Yonkers. They are just kids who made a mistake. Everyone reading this has made a mistake in there lives and better yet everyone has stolen before too! Daniel comes from a loving home with good caring parents. He deserves a second chance to make good of himself. All your negative comments does not help the situation. These kids are being punished as you can see, but they need a second chance on life to redeem themselves. All of you writing all these negative comments should look at your own families, because not everyone is perfect.

I agree with Yonkers and Jessica. Everyone makes mistakes. This could be YOUR child, YOUR cousin, YOUR nephew. They are just kids who yes made a horrible mistake but everyone learns from mistakes. I think that this is punishment enough for them seeing how their parents and family are suffering for them. I know for a FACT that these kids are good kids. Do not tell me that YOU never made a mistake in your life because you are only saying a lie! I know that these kids are so sorry for what they did and I am sure that they wil never do it again. They deserve second chance everyone in this world deserves a second change. They have learned a valueable lesson just by being caught and sent to jail but sending them for years is not right! Remember look at it as a PARENT an ADULT! this could hapen to you or someone in your family.

Hey genious, guess what murdering them does... IT STEALS THEIR LIFE!!! I hope you know that god doesn't like ugly, and yes I know that stealing is a sin, but so is being born. Everyone has made mistakes in their life whether they were big or small, and just because you haven't been caught for yours doesn't make you a better person than them. And for the football comment, you obviously didn't go to a high school in south florida... football is life to most of those kids, and it happens to be something that makes them popular. Don't just blame these kids, why not take a look at the other ones who place them on such a high pedestal for once, it could be your own kids for all you know!!!
