You should be more specific about what you think he's missed. I've read the thread from the beginning, and what he's saying makes perfect sense. Maybe you just don't understand it?
You are obviously not that "bright" either. I already told you what the first amendment means...LOL. In other words....(I'll spell it out for you)....politics has no business in my beliefs. Bottom line.....It's a Christmas Tree. You are right, I should be more specific for those who can't follow.

Can someone please tell me why you christians are upset? I think I got lost here. so there changing a bloody name of a tree on a peice of paper even though there not forcing you to call it by another name, or change in any way to tradition. Even though there letting you to do whatever you want plus not making a big deal about those who don't call it holiday tree. yet, You guys are fussing about the name even though its not really forcing you anyway to change at all. I just wanted to know if i Got that straight. So can someone please explain to what in bloody name are you guys fussing about?

i am aware of the difference but I wasn't talking about neo-paginism. which wasn't my point is that why are people complaining? no one is forcing you to call it holiday tree. there just changing the name on peice of paper. you can call it christmas tree you can still say merry christmas. i have family in many religions and im not christian and i say merry christmas. there just changing the name on a peice of paper What is the big deal? i don't understand the fuss about it that is what i mean't. christian no one is forcing you to do anything so why are you guys complaing? that is my real confusion i have.
Outside of this moment.....I probably won't think about it this late afternoon as I'm mending my fences....perhaps you're right after all. I just rather politics nose out of our religion. That's all. Just out of curiosity (I know it's none of my business) what religion do you practice? I hate to admit but I'm what you call a "Christeaster"....I' m not completely happy with the RCC, but I do attend on Christmas and Easter. A hypocrite...maybe....but I think our religious preferences boil down to where we were born geographically.

Actually nah im not offended im actually agnostic I believe there is an after life and there is a higher being I just don't think one religion says it all. My family is from a lil everywhere so we have a mix family. I do agree i hate when politics intervene for example my neices school took out christmas things out like christmas cards at there gift shop totally riduculus. I mean my neice is not christian she just like the christmas cards with the snowman on them. I think the government is going to the extreme!!! now because it is the "state" tree you can't have one religion above another so legally i can understand why their changing it but in school. Instead of taking things away add them. like instead of taking christmas out of school keep it in but teach the kids about other people traditions. like bring in different food dishes like i don't celebrate kwanza and brought in a kwanza dish cause it gave culture. okay!! it was mostly because it was delicious and it smelled really great. Everyone loved it!!! So does anyone understand where im comin from?

They’re probably fussing because a group of sub human individuals are the ones fussing enough to force a change because their politically correct agenda warrants it in their sub human minds. It’s a huge lose for the sub humans who got one person to change it on one piece of paper and it will ignored from the start. The other folks just enjoy pissing off the people that get so easily pissed off. I’m with them and it has always been and always will be a christmas tree. How completely comical for the sub human creatures to think people will actually stop calling it what it is just because they cry about it.

It's not practical to include literally all of the thousands of religions people may practice. I'm not sure you understand the definition of "dictator." Dictators share more in common with an exclusive point of view than an inclusive one.
A better question would be why Christians are offended by "Happy Holidays." Christians aren't satisfied unless everyone's holidays but their own are left out. It's the height of arrogance, but somehow you folks don't seem to get it.
I am a Christian and I am not offended that some people say Happy Holidays. Just because someone may say Merry Christmas, this necessarily does not show which ones are Christians and which ones are not.

The Christmas tree is a symbol of Jesus' birth the lights signify the lights of Bethlehem where Joseph and Mary were traveling to await the arrival of the Savior of mankind. The star on top of the tree is, the star in the east which was witnessed by the three wisemen at a far off distance from the actual birth. It probably took them a couple of years to travel the distance to present Jesus with their gifts. This amazing story did not happen all in one night! No matter how and when it all took place it is certainly a miracle and is recorded in the best selling book of all generations, past and present. I pray for peace on earth and good will to all men, no matter your religious preference. Let us all remember our troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the remainder of our service men who are serving our country all over the world. Let us all remember the hungry and impoverished citizens who need our prayers and our support. We are so blessed and the true meaning of Christmas is our willing to sacrifice some of our many material things to help those in need. Let us also pray for forgiveness for our inability sometimes to accept the negativity of our ignorance to others beliefs no matter how far out they seem to us. They are real in the hearts of the person who is speakng their opinion on society's many diverse sectors. Merry Christmas to each and everyone of you and may you be blessed with goodwill and the knowledge of understanding, freedom and love for each other!
Amen!

I'm not "bright" because I understand the difference between religious practices and state sponsorship of religious practices? Whatever you say.

Dec 25th is Christmas Day. That is the holiday and that is what we call it. Course, I guess if the PC nut cases have their way, we will soon be celebrating "Season's Greetings Day".

It is Christmas Day and we have a Christmas tree. Get over it.

Wonder how many of those who are offended by Christmas will go to work in leau of the paid holiday???

Employers paying for their employees' day off has nothing to do with law; not all, or even most, businesses do that. What does that have to do with what we're talking about?
