I googled Jon Juhl. He is a genuine community oriented developer dedicated to creating housing in which all the units are affordable. This is very promising.

The Fair Housing Act and applicable sections of Mass. AAB regulations (521 CMR) need to be recognized & followed to ensure that it is accessible and affordable to individuals with disabilities.

Sell a vaulable piece of real estate with acreage of land in the center of town for 100,000 dollars That is less than I paid for my house and it is 1 unit not 40. Why should the devoloper reap all the profits. What happens in 50 years when we need a new Town Hall and we don't have any land. That piece of property should would great to have at that time

I also feel some trepidation about selling off town property in the center. However, I don't have a problem with selling the land for a bargain price if it will be used for affordable senior housing. I think that it is an appropriate use for the building and will be an asset to the town center.

It will be very expensive to make the property comply to stringent code for senior housing. The building must be completely gutted and rebuilt on the inside and elevators put in for handicapped access. Mr. Juhl will need to apply for special financing and there are no guarantees.

We need to have everything in writing about how this property will be converted and to make sure that all the planned units are affordable before we agree to sell it.

Would you rather have it sit there for 50 years, letting the building rot away, or have it developed now? My mother was a widow on a fixed income who couldn't keep her home. If affordable housing for seniors is an option, I say go for it!

I don't care what happens in 50 years. But, I'd sure like to see it used for affordable senior housing right NOW!
