This is a sad day. These are the people protecting us? Maybe next time they should implement a little bit of training and keep their distance until someone capable of handling the situation arrives. Shame on you.

have yu not read the full story, i was actually listing to the whole thing go down on the police scanner, cops are trained to shot at the largest body mass I.E the chest... and if this person had a knife and jumpped at one of the cops after they , sevral times told him to drop it, then they had every ruight to "protect and serve" ..lets lok at it this was, if some asshole had a knife and told you that they were going to kill you or stab you and you had a gun, and this asshole jumped at you ...you would shoot them to protect yourself, but just because cops were involved all of you under educated morons are going to flame them, this kids father called the police because this kid was out of controll and threting himand his mom with a knife , lessen here, if your gonna try to be a bad ass punk kid you better BE A BADASS...i have no sympathy for some one who was eather on some sort of drugs or drunk, or just a plane ol' punk kid who has no recourse for anyone or anything. so shame on all of you for blaming the cops who had to make this split desicion on saving his partners life.

Duty calls, self-defence in order. Both parties are
responsible for their actions, no one wins. This is
sad, but we are all accountable for actions regard-
less of our age or condition. I feel sad for the
parents of the young man and the officers.

Big Bear is such a tiny place that most of us "know" or "know of" everyone else here. Jordan was always polite and never showed me anything but kindness & respect. He was a good person. Did he have some faults? Probably...don't you? Don't we all? The only thing he is truly guilty of is being young. When we are young we just "know" we are invincible, we aren't going to die for another 50 or 60 years which seems like an eternity when you are 20. We think we are "bullet proof" so to speak. When we are young we take risks that we wouldn't take when we are older. We drive our cars way to fast, we experiment with alchohol and or drugs, we jump bicycles and motorcycles and ride our atv's like maniacs, etc. If you're a country kid you do this with old pickup trucks and horses. We tend to let our pigeon mouths write checks that our hummingbird arses can't cash. When we get older we sit back and laugh about it and say...I don't know how I survived my youth. I don't think Jordan actually believed the cop would shoot him, and I don't believe that he would have ever actually stabbed the cop. Problem is...nobody told the cop. Lets just be there for his family. They need our love and support right now, not a lot of finger pointing and nasty post comments about their son. Aren't they suffering enough without having to read that kind of trash? For Carol & Don, Chuck & Maria, for Isaac who lost his only brother & best friend, for the rest of the family, may God be with you in your time of need. For Jordan..thank you (and Isaac) for making me smile, making me laugh, and always being gentlemen in my presence.

It was not Murder. That kid was high on Meth (lethal dose)(coroners report)Is on the 911 tapes stating he wanted to die. He ran towards an officer with a knife. These are the facts. The little shitbag got what he deserved. lesson here is dont go to a gun fight with a knife. Federal court will throw this out family just wants money.

i say everyone that says the deputies shouldnt have shot but ran away lets put them in a cops life for a week. come on people lets think about this, police officers dont want to kill anyone they arent trained to kill anyone. they are trained to stop a threat and if that means shooting someone in the chest since they are running at you with a knife well im sorry but that is justified no matter were you live in the world.

i love how people will bash the people that saves there lives and then wonder why some of the times the police have a bad attitude towards the public.

No, I am not the father if I were I would get revenge. Funny how in 70% of all unarmed police shootings a lunge with a knife is mentioned. Lethal dose of lead is what the kid died of. Cops kill, why else would they take that job? They are insecure low self esteem, like bullies, and it gives them authority. It was murder.

What about that Springfield cop got drunk and started shooting his gun. Jeff Merrell bent over backwards to let him go. No bail, back at work with a gun, and let off. Merrell puts all of our lives in danger. If it were you he would make a false feloney complaint then try to get you to plead. Merrell needs to try on some jail time.

I took the job to help my community out and help clean up the drug problem. Last time I checked I don't have low self esteem. Its funny how you say it murder but you said if it was your son you would get revenge wow sounds like you have an anger problem and need help with it.

I have an idea. If you think you can do a better job then go through an acemdey take an oath to protect put the badge on everyday and then talk bad about law enforcement. If you can't even do that I say keep hiding behind your coward words.

Have a blessed day and may God bless your family :)

So if my son were shot down by cops I would have an anger problem? Yep I would. Did you see those Michigan Nazi cops shoot that homeles guy 31 times? They fired 46 shots. Perhaps some time on the range would be in order. As soon as they get out of prison.

Your mom is right. But cops should not be elected. The sheriff system is obsolete. We should have highly paid vetted respectable constables who do not misuse power. Not fat lazy mean bullying losers who murde innocents for fun. Look at houston PD they just shot a wheel chair bound double amputee in the back, please explain that one. Cops kill. simple as that
