In 1995, two women were killed in their home on Central Street in Hudson. Doris Bean 81, and Loretta Allen 76.
Two men, Charles Dorval 21, and Jerry Millard 20, were arrested.
I believe that Dorval went to jail, but Millard was never convicted. I cannot find any reference on the web to indicate why Millard was not convicted, or any information on how long the sentence was that Dorval got for his part in the murders.
Does anyone know how long Dorval was sentenced to or what happened to Jerry Millard? The date of the murder was November 11th, 1995.
Thanks.

Also, I think the two guys had been at the house working in the yard a few times before the murders. One of their dads may have even owned a lawn service.

There doesn't seem to be much information about this available. Isn't that strange?

I thought it was odd myself.

I remember this, but I dont remember what happened to the guilty parties. I know that the one who went to jail refused to roll over on the one that got away.

Charles Dorval is serving life, no parole. Jerry Millard was not tried due to lack of evidence. The victims were my Grandmother (Loretta Allen) & her sister (Doris Bean). Dorval & Millard had previously done leaf collection at the house & I assume she paid them in $$. She refused to permit them to return as she complained to me about the poor job they did. This apparently set their plan in motion to get cash to fuel a drug habit. They were both in their 70's & Doris was confined to a chair due to severe arthritis. She could barely move. I would give 20 years off my life to have been sitting in the kitchen that day when they showed up.

By the way, thank you for taking the time to post, and my condolences for losing two family members because of two useless pieces of crap.
Its a shame there is not more information available on this crime.

My sincerest condolences for the loss of your grandmother and great aunt. I hope they rot away for such a ridiculous and senseless crime

The case is still being worked by NH Cold Case team. Millard has been locked up in the last few years on & off for various robbery / assault offenses. I appreciate the comments posted. I will add this thought: Experiencing something like this is not quite like you see in the movies. Anything that happens to the perps.(jail, execution, whatever) gives you little or no satisfaction & can never take back what happened. Millard is still out there & it is just a matter of time before someone else is a victim.

Steve A, from Virginia,I remember hearing so many good things about your Grandmother and Aunt, from My Mom, who has sinced passed. My Mom grew up in Hudson, on Riverside, and when we went to visit my Sister in Pelham, we always went by their house to and from Merrimack. It was and is a sad story..

My Aunt was stricken with severe rheumatiod arthritis in her 20's. It would take her 20 minutes to shuffle across the room when she could walk. I never heard her complain once. Grandmother cared for her her entire life, never heard her complain once. I'm sure your Mom was cut from the same cloth. I remember them whenever I start to feel sorry for myself for some trivial hardship.

According to the Inmate Locator at the NH State Prison website, Millard is serving life ... well, unless he lives past June of 2096.

Millard is in a half way house and Dorval is still incarcarated until 2096, if I am reading the site correctly.

For those who indicated that the NH ColdCase group is investigating the case again-perhaps it is to bring Millard to trial finally? I mean what other conclusion can you draw?

Steve, my heart breaks for you and yours. What a horrific crime.:(

Thank you Steve A. They have until 2011 to collect what they need-I wonder how the community feels knowing that Mr. Millard is walking the streets, albeit under supervision. It is very difficult to sort out what is "justice" in this case or if there IS any kind of justice for this horror.:( I have to say this, I am intrigued that Dorval seems to have accepted the responsibility without flipping on his friend.

Regarding Millard, one additional note- His offense date was 9/18/2004, his minimum "incarcaration" is 6/11/2011, maximum 6/9/2017 and mandatory 9/9/2016. You can probably find the case in the docket at the Hillborough Superior Court. These are all public records.
