Is there a good reason why people feel its ok to violate others? GET A JOB like the rest of us if you need to support your habits etc.

No there is not a good reason to do that but in his case it was different. He has a bad drug problem and at his point it took over his own mind. I knew him before all this and before he was on drugs and I know for a fact that he would never think about doing that! So before you just assume he was poor or anything like that you should do more research. Btw he did have a job so that was Obviously not the whole problem

You are absolutely right sam, i know him very well since he was only 10 yrs old. i watched him graduate high school.. he did have a big drug problem. and you're absolutely right that he would never in his right mind do something of this degree if he were sober. he is a great kid. great brother, and great uncle to his nieces. I appreciate you sticking up for his behalf, he can't defend himself so someone has to. and not only poor people steal..or rob.. or break in.. or do anything illegal.. lawyers, drs, judges all do corrupt and illegal things.. its whether they are caught or not. so.. yes that person should do some fact checking before spilling their very negative and stereotypical comments on an individuals actions.. I'm sure that person is NO saint. no one is. corey did a bad thing yes, is he remorseful yes. if he paying for it. yes. so live and let learn. its just a shame he was in rehab when he got taken into custody... incarceration IS NO PLACE FOR AN ADDICT... not what so ever. wishing the best for him. just sent him a letter actually. i have been in his shoes. i have done the illegal act. got caught and paid for it, and still am. so i personally know from experience and life lessons that one is not the same when addicted.. hate the drug not the junkie.. hate the over prescribing and corruption of drs, and HATE THE MASS DEALERS RUINING NH.. its out of control. thus why i left and moved far far away... corey there are people out there that know the truth.. and know that u acted out of desperation. it happens.. hoping the best for your trial..

Corey is my brother and I love him with every ounce of me. He is a person who got caught up in some bad things but that doesn't make him a bad person. It makes him a strong person. Because not only does he have to fight his addiction but he'll have to fight the rest of his life proving to people like you that he is a changed good man. People like you who judge without knowing him. I pray for his sake that the fight gets easier

Hate the drug the addict?
Oh my gosh! I know you are his friends and family but EVERYONE knows drugs are bad and yet he chose to do them! Suck it up! Maybe jail will teach him not to steal things people work hard to buy!
And for his sister, you clearly knew he was on drugs beforehand, and you didn't do anything ... He's been on drugs since high school and did smoke illegal things when at your house
It's fine to still love him but he got what he deserved. Can't wait for trial.

I am his mom. Those who judge and comment that you are his sister and did nothing, have no idea what we have doe or tried to do to help my son / her brother. I pray that younger have to deal wit or experience the grip that addiction has on a loved one.

So let me see if I got this straight.
People who voluntarily become drug addicts are not at fault for doing so, and people who become thieves because of their drug addiction are not responsible for that either.
Interesting.
On all the threads on this website that relate to someone who has wronged someone else, their is always a family member or friend posting about how "people dont understand" and the ever popular "You dont know him like I do..." blah blah blah. Then they go on to describe how even though the person did exactly what they are accused of that somehow they "would never do that". "My son would never steal or do drugs unless he was high and stole something".

While its true that someone who gets himself addicted to drugs should be offered help to overcome his addiction and its subsequent criminal results, they way to help them isnt to make excuses for them.

This young man became a drug addict on purpose, and then he stole things, on purpose. No excuses. He should be punished.
THEN he should receive help to see if he can learn how to avoid being a drug addicted thief.
But make no mistake about it, he is a drug addict who steals from people. He might not always be that, but right now thats what he is. To make excuses or to say "dont call him that" isnt helping him or anyone else.

It doesnt matter how sweet or wonderful he was when he was 10. That sweet wonderful child is now a drug addict and a thief. Dont pretend he is anything else, because you cant address his issue and help him if you're lying from the start.

I know this disease and it's a hell of a fight, that either more or suicide is the only plausible option at the time I love Corey and hope he stays strong
