Chambersburg should be happy they have a poor transit system. If the Chambersburg road had been more inviting, Lee may have searched for shoes there rather than Gettysburg. Your lack of engineering prowess may have saved your town a terrible upheaval.

I think they should use the money for something more inportant. This rail to trails is a good place for druggies to hang out. Also who going to use it when its so close to the project

Good use of money! Quality of life issue. For once, I support Shuster's decision to spend out tax money. Now, let's extend the trail all the way to Shippensburg and connect it to the Cumberlannd Valley Rail-to-Trail.

Foolish person! There's been an earthquake in Haiti. A rail trail is the last thing they need right now. Why would you want to build our rail trail in Haiti?

rails to trails is here to stay regardless of where the money issues are. There should be lights installed along the trail, especially in the section from King to Commerce Sts.

The Rail Trail is probably the safest place in town. There are so many undercover cops watching it that they are bumping into each other. If you have a brain, use it, dork. The Capitol Theater is only one block away.

I agree. Great view and great work out in a safe environment. This has been a long time waiting.

All I got to say is you better be packing heat when you walk down there. You might walk in and not walk back out with all the hoods in that area.

You think that is the safest place in town - come on down, I dare you to walk that trail after dark! Police watching it, you are funny... the police won't even go down there by themselves after dark, only in packs and only if you call them.
$330,000 for a half a mile?! That is absolutely nuts. The boro needs to send that back without even thinking about it.

That's great for Chambersburg. I have to walk my dog in the street 'cause the development has no sidewalks. I could use some of that money, however, to heat my home. What a waste of taxpayers money. Seems like senior citizens don't get nearly enough help. Especailly widowed seniors. The government has some really strange ideas.

You're an idiot. They didn't say send the rail trail to Haiti because that is clearly impossible to do. They said send the money lol.

Sir you are also an idiot just like the other one that replied to the haiti comment. We don't even have that many undercover cops in chambersburg. You might think it is safe but it's really not.

If anyone recalls their history Curtis Lowe, southern forces returned to Cburg after Gburg and burned it to the ground. You failed history didn't you? NEXT
AVID BIKER? I could bike that entire trail in about ten minutes. How many laps do you do? I like bikers, so you're still OK in my book. NEXT
Haiti does not need a bike trail or money. They need Tye Pennington to go down there and do an extreme island makeover! NEXT
Stop calling people idiots. Its just not nice. As for the rail trail, it needs to go NORTH not south. If it went north it could connect with the trail in Ship someday. At $100 a square foot for blacktop that won't be anytime soon.
Take care everyone.
