Fire hall - Children learn by example. Your example is not found in any biblical teachings. What do you base these teachings on?
You are setting a horrible example by trying to force a property owner to bend to your whims, no matter how useless. Will your grandchildren and great-grandchildren be proud that their descendent was a bull-headed, self-centered idiot? I think not.

Fire hall - When there is a fire, does anyone win? NO!! Just once, work on this win-win situation with the Smith House and maybe the community will learn how to work on win-win situations with the fire hall.

cmon - This is not about property rights and you know it. This about community service and working together for the benefit of all. You are grasping for straws. Let history record what happens here.

I know that property rights has EVERYTHING to do with it. I have several times suggested that a marker could be erected to acknowledge that the house once stood there, and I'd even bet the fire house would agree to do that. But they own the property, they want the house gone, and nobody has come up with a concrete plan and concrete money to do what the fire house wants, so they get to make the decision about what happens to their property. You had 2 years when the house was on the market to do something about it, and you've had 2 years after the fire house purchased it to do something about it. Don't give me your line of BS that you didn't have enough time. You snoozed, you losed.

Anon - The fire hall got first option on the property at $125,000 after is was listed for $250,000. The general public did not have an opportunity at $125,000. Go to the Fire hall and ask to read the proposal if they will be honest and let you. Many people have copies, so if you look you will find one. By reading the proposal, your opinion will change. It is a Win-Win for everyone. If you snooze on this one, you will lose.

I don't give a hoot about "the proposal". You had your opportunity and you messed it up.'Nuff said. Now go put on your big girl pants and be quiet.

Anon - I am positive the good LORD gave you a brain. Please used it and improve yourself. Too lazy to get the facts is a sorry state of being. You can at least try.

THE FACTS are that you don't have a place where you can pick up the house today and move it to. THE FACTS are that you need to have this in place before they start tearing the house down. THE FACTS are that they aren't working on bringing down the house at the moment. THE FACTS are that you are still posting on a blog rather than working to achieve your goal. Therefore, THE FACTS are that you LOST. How many more FACTS do you need?

The house can be moved to 207 North Main Street. Greg Weller Weller (fire board director) has an actual copy of the easement. The fire board has had the proposal for several weeks now. The fire board still refuses comment as of an hour ago, NBC25 news report.
You should call the fire hall and tell them to answer the questions to NBC25. This is not a closed board meeting, this is just answering the questions. Why can't the board do this?

WHEN can it be moved - TODAY? If you can move it TODAY, I might be more willing to see your viewpoint. But you can't. You want the fire hall to wait until you get your ducks in a row. They don't want to wait, and it doesn't matter WHY they feel that way, they do. Am I not speaking english? Do you not understand that?

The fire hall doesn't NEED to talk to NBC25 - the TV station will only pour more salt on existing wounds, and won't make a difference in the end result. Do you really WANT that? It's the fire hall's house and they are legally able to do whatever they want with it, whether you like it or not.

Anon - With cooperation the house would be move in a very short time. Open & transparent government must be something that you do not understand.
