You see doopy yet again you fail to read what was said.

The blame being placed on Mrs. Davis is her failure to consider safety for the schools DUE to or BECAUSE of the road conditions DUE to or BECAUSE of the weather.

Is that simply stated enough for you?

Snow days are provided for a reason. And one, maybe two have be used? Or avoid that, and simply delay school.

The road conditions on both Monday and Tuesday , at the very least, were bad enough for a delay. You can't tell me they were not.

Many reports of people feeling the same about the roads being hard to drive on.

How does giving the understaffed DPW extra time to clear the roads with a school delay each negatively towards the school?

And don't give me, I seen the roads worse. So have I! And I'm willing to bet, school were closed.

Samantha-it's clear to everyone who reads this that you have a personal grudge that has gone far beyond any intellectual debate on this subject. In fact your psycho babble, on almost every board on this subject has alienated your cause probably more than you think. At this point, I would recommend that your walk away from your PC, find someone willing to give you a hug, if at all possible, after your days spewing venom over a family's tragic loss and finally think about getting some therapy which can hopefully teach you to accept yourself for what you are-a sad desperate individual trying to take advantage of a family's loss to promote her own agenda and gain any attention which you have clearly lacked your entire life-pathetic.

I know a couple of weeks ago, it was a friday, all after school activities were cancelled, but the school wasn't. I had my kids stay home that day, it's as simple as that.
I am not saying it was the parents fault either, but we all have to take blame if one is going to have to.
If you know the roads are bad, why send them, and then worry about it? And why let them drive to school? They aren't that experienced to begin with.
Again, I mean no harm in saying that, but common sense has to play a part in this as well!!!

Perhaps the originator of this verbal tantrum is the person most in need of some professional time on a couch. Samanatha has been one of the few people on this thread actually supporting her position with facts.

Clearly an eloquent response from the "Holland Patent Hate Mongers" club. I wouldn't have expected anything more or less. Perhaps there are group discount rates for therapy for your whole club.

I thought this was a forum on opinions on whether or not the SI should take the blame for a tragic accident, based on opinions.
What does it have to do with any facts? You can release info on accidents that happen every day of the week, it doesn't mean that a SI should take the blame because of it. I guess we all like to point the finger at somebody, maybe it makes us feel better about it, but facts aren't the issue.
Should one person take the blame for one fatal accident or not?
One fatal accident is one too many, that's true, but everyone else made it to school that day. Weigh the odds on that one Sam or factcheck, whoever you are!

Wow, lol.
I don't know the Superintendent personally, so I have nothing for or against her. I just don't think she should take the blame for this incident. If the bus had major problems , and the teachers couldn't make it, and they had school anyway, then it would be a different story1

Noooooo! A teacher criticizes a supt? You can't do that.......not unless you have tenure. By the way, does anyone really know how much Mizz Davis makes annually?

nobody said it was funny, dummy. The word "funny" was used in ironic context, not "funny" as in comedy. You're as dense as a box of rocks. Point was, there weren't more accidents, evidence that the roads were not as bad as some claim, and further evidence the super made the right call not to cancel school.
Besides that, the tragic accident and death is not a direct result of her actions or inaction and she cannot be removed for it. If you want to cast blame, how about blaming the driver of the car or the DOT? After all, it was the driver who lost control of the car and the DOT who failed to clear the roadway properly. You know, blaming those items that are DIRECTLY responsible for the tragedy. No, its too easy for you to scapegoat this onto the Superintendent who you have a personal vendetta against.
Wrong again "dummy". DOT is not directly responsible for plowing that road.

Sounds like your the one trying to assess blame.

Typical response from someone who has nothing constructive to add to the argument but personal attacks or ridiculous statements. And aren't your comments and attacks toward her the same thing?

Again, so someone who is upset with the Supers lack of concern for safety equates to one being a hate monger? A bully?

You don't have to agree. But many parents were upset and called the school on both days last week. More so on Monday. That was why the poor call came into play, sending that letter home, on Tuesday, when the phone calls continued.

In any matter what or who gives you the right to talk down to us for being upset? Bash, criticize, taunt, bully, all because you don't agree.

Once more, only two snow days have been used. It's almost March. What is she saving those days for?

As you still cannot tell me that the roads on Monday and Tuesday last week were not bad. And if you think Monday wasn't, roads covered in ice. You are crazy.

Ranting doesn't improve your position. HP has had a problem with the "outsider" Davis since she arrived there. You have no justification so you continue stomping your feet like babies over nothing. Guess what? It snows in HP during the winter; live with it.

if you actually read and understood the post you cited, it is clear they were making a point that there is nobody to blame.

You are blinded by your own self loathing and hatred of a successful woman like the HP Super. How does it feel to stew in your own envy?

DOT, DPW, Highway, whoever responsible for plowing, you dolt.

She did assess the situation and made the right call not to cancel. Accept it. Unless you were in her mind that morning, then you have no idea whether she considered the weather.

Is that simple enough for a simpleton like you?

Did you enjoy bullying people when you were a kid? I can see you didn't get any better at it in your old age.

the snow days are being saved for days they will actually be needed. You think it is unsafe for your kid to go to school, keep them home. You'd be a bad parent otherwise if you rely on a superintendent to tell you what to do. while Davis runs the school district and the decision when to close or delay school, ultimately the parent has the final say. quit your bitchin and accept it. Move on because you lost any credibility.

As far as Lucason goes, if he was indeed fired. Then I would expect a law suit from Lucason. I had him as a track coach, he is a person of great character and was definitely a teacher that stood for the right things. Perhaps how he contested the Superintendent wasn't the correct thing to do but if you know anything about the governing body in HP you know that it doesn't matter if you take the correct channels. Speaking up in the news sometimes is the only way to get things noticed.

That said I was not in the area, so I do not know how bad the roads were. I do know that the intersection of 365 and Cameroden is just awful. Even on good days when the roads are bone dry people get in accidents. Speed could have been a factor who knows. I know from experience that there were several days as a student that they would close school for something ridiculous and then stay open on days that truly needed to be closed or delayed. Also, if you live in the district you would know that the school has always had something against delays. Two hour ones only come when its so bad and the school is out of closings.

you can go to a website called seethroughny.net and look it up...guessing somewhere in the area of $175k plus all her perks...the contract is on the website too...read it and it will make you SICK. And people wonder why our school taxes are so high and the kids are getting less education..well when we have to take care of these people for not only when they are employed but for the rest of their lives..with free health insurance for them and their spouses..while we struggle with Medicare and our expensive supplemental insurance..it just doesn't make sense..and they say they are there for the kids...YEAH...RIGHT!!

Don't be so easily duped. Snow days are being saved to be added to spring break, as usual.
