733 Companies, Unions and other Groups with 2,189,636 Workers Now Exempt From Obamacare

If Obamacare is supposed to be such a great thing for America, why are so many companies and various organizations being granted exemptions? Why do so many of those who have sought the exemptions — like unions, for example — just happen to be supporters of Obama and liberal democratic policies? Could it be that liberals just love to make laws for everyone else, love to make everyone else but themselves pay?

I do not know how many companies and groups have applied for exemptions from Obamacare, but the list of entities who have been granted an exemption is growing quickly. A look at the page now shows that, as of December 3, 2010 there were 733 approved exemptions. That’s a total of 2,189,636 American workers that will not suffer the consequences of Obamacare. Keep in mind that the date on this report is two months ago. Who knows what the number is today. You can view the entire list at this website, and perhaps it will be more current by the time you click through to it.

Perhaps John Boehner should change his strategy to repeal Obamacare, and instead just sit back and wait until all of America is exempt. But the problem is the likely outcome would be that only half the country would be exempt — the blue half.

So, how does one obtain an exemption to Obamacare? Is it all based upon the stated criteria, or are there other factors left unwritten? A cynic might conclude there could be some political favors being handed out, when you see the number of unions in the list.

If you browse through the list, you’ll find the names quite interesting. On one hand, there are huge groups like the 19,000 workers belonging to the “Communications Workers of America, Local 1180 Security Benefits Fund.” But on the other hand, there are some small companies like the Sieben Polk Law, a firm of personal injury lawyers in Minnesota, as you see in the screen capture below

Guess that "we care" only goes so far..
And of course, the liberals can't impose obama care on other liberals...that won't redistribute any wealth at all...

What a bunch of shit, the caring libs doubled my cost for insurance..
guess they don't care if white conservatives have to make the choose between food and medical care, that only extends to liberals and minorities

I forget..who's the racist again??

it's not just the health insurance you can buy either.

remember - what Obama is handing out is health "insurance" - not health care.

Follow the money...

Its amazing that liberals still think the GOP is the party of the rich..when in fact the liberals are.

I guess being a liberal is like farting in church...
just hurry and point at the person next to you and blame them before anyone has time to follow the stench back to you..

You know..like the Arizona shooter..

"the caring libs doubled my cost for insurance"

You've still completely failed to show how that happened. Until you do, you're a windbag with absolutely no credibility.

My insurance didn't double...could it be....

YOUR COMPANY?

Show us the money, BD.

As you say, put your money where your mouth is.

I told you I am paying 20% more for insurance this year. That's all the better it gets. Deal with it.

2 main reasons. 1.) Kids up to 26 yrs old added. 2.) No pre-existing conditions clause. And then there's the "no limits" clause too.

Eh, its been deternined to be unconstitutional anyhow... buh-bye

If the insurance companies take any more of my money, there will be no Santa Clause either.

Welllll....being that you are or will be on government health care, Mongoose, you'll have more of a cadillac plan than we will. A man of principle will give that up. But I'm sure you've "earned" it, while everyone else hasn't.

BD- the second one should be there. Sorry. That's the opinion. I care more about people getting screwed and dying than I do an extra $200 a year for you.

if it were only $200 i wouldn't worry about it either....

again Bonds... even though there is a pre-existing condition clause, an insurance company could STILL not accept you. they just have to pay $100 a day till they except you.

so just because that's there now doens't mean an insurance wouldn't deny you.$1million for cancer care - how many days could they put you off till you die off (or give up trying with that company). hmmmmmm....

So let's scrap the current non-working system.

It can't and won't happen because if it were public, the right would scream about nationalizing business, while the left would piddle and cave in.

It's HEALTH. Health shouldn't be business, when it comes to care.

Just imagin...
If you didn't have to pay for health insurance (paying for what you don't need) but instead only "paid" for your health CARE (what you do need).

Now imagine who "pays" isn't "you".

Sounds pretty sweet huh?

Ah, but the socialists want it for free. That's how socialism works: spread the wealth. Steal from the rich and give to the poor. Rob Peter to pay Paul. You get the picture.

And soon, the socialists will be going to the barber shop to have their appendix removed.

Yep. Happens in just about every Western nation.

They generally have to "get by" on a couple hundred thousand $ instead of half a million. It would be tough....

There are plenty of professions that go to school for years and years and don't get big $. Some do it for love of the job. If you're only in it to make money, go get an MBA from Michgan. You'll be making BIG money in a few years.

I wouldn't feel that sorry for the doctors.

well of course you don't feel bad for them... but then again what if YOUR job was on the "liberal" hit-list? um yeah... "as long as it doesn't affect me..." - Bonds...

ONE day it's the "poor unemployed" and then the "poor this and poor that" now it's the doctors...

You don't think the docs could make a little less so that your fellow citizens could get care? Or, care that doesn't bankrupt them?

I keep my job by changing. CHANGE is sometimes necessary, BD.

So what would you do if all of a sudden the gov't said you had to do yojur job for pennies on the dollar? Just up and change? After training for almost a decade for that job.... just change? Um yeah...right.

That's what you ask unions to do.

That's what happened to the unemployed trying to get jobs.

That's what is going to happen when the inevitable cuts happen in social security.

You think the salaries of doctors are more important than the health of your neighbor? Are you that rich?

And you would have doctors work for a wage that would not give them a return on 8 years of education. Doctors could probably work for less if they didn't have a 1/4 million dollars a year premiums for malpractice insurance. Or should all physicians be employed by the government and work for a government salary?

Your lack of insights are remarkable. Typical liberal dimwit. No free enterprise and everything must be for the collective good. Right? Go back to hackey land canuck. LOL
