Once upon a time, millions upon millions of young people dreamed of moving to California. Nearly endless sunshine, pristine beaches and a booming economy made it seem like paradise to many. But now those days are long gone. Unemployment is rampant, home prices have fallen like a rock, violent crime and gang activity are on the rise, local governments all over California are facing horrible financial problems, millions of illegal immigrants have poured into the state, traffic around the big cities is nightmarish and tax rates are absolutely outrageous. Plus there is the constant threat that your home could be destroyed by an earthquake, a wildfire or a mudslide. In recent years, hordes of hard working families have decided that they have had enough and have decided to move away from California. In fact, since the year 2000 more than 1.6 million people have moved away from the state of California.
There are still a few pockets of the state that are still very beautiful and that have been sheltered from the economic nightmare that is sweeping the rest of the state.
But in general, most cities in California are rapidly becoming giant hellholes.
Without a doubt, the "California Dream" has now become a "California Nightmare" for most residents of the state.
Do you live in California? If so, perhaps now is the time to move. The following are 16 really good reasons to move away from California....

But you can walk around naked, engage in public sex and get all the drugs you could ever want.
And the lords of the left, the holy hollywood leaders of the regime live high and mighty in the hills above those that worship their every word.
Even the president dines and parties in liberal heaven. 40 million in contributions while Rome burns

How many reasons are there to move away from Michigan?

300 days of sunshine, really pretty people, and folks with vision. Cali will recover long before Michigan does, if that ever happens. I suspect you wouldn't fit in Tom, but I personally miss home everyday.

Now for some reality
Violent, and property crime has decreased considerably in California over the last 20 years
California is the 8th largest economy in the world
Michigan has 3 of the most dangerous cities in the US's top 10 most dangerous cities, not one California city is in the top 10
California has 3 out of 10 cities with the largest concentration of millionares in the US, Michigan is not on that list
And then my own experience; most californians I know have a basic understanding of the English language, don't get pregnant at 15, don't live on welfare, don't have multiple baby daddies, or mommas, and have enough sense not to become obese by 21
Meth makes you delusional Tom, seriously lay off of that stuff

And by the way, in 35 years of living in California I never saw any one walking around naked, having sex in public, and you can get drugs anywhere

JeShok- you beat me to it! I was just about to look up the stats to see if it could be refuted. Beat me to it. Don't expect any concessions here, though.
I like Cali. Nice place. Been there three times, but not for very long. I'd live there, but honestly, I doubt many can afford to move there, you'd have to start there. I like Michigan, except for the winters. Haven't found another state I'd rather live in.

Soutern Cali and Northern Cali are two COMPLETELY different states. The people that live there obviously like it or else they would leave.
And seeing as it tops the list for MOST populated state in the nation, the Golden State's resident attitudes dont seem to jive with the initial post.
And if you have never lived there - then you have no idea.

They did go too far with spending- and agendas- but obviously people want to be there.
The funny part is, people want to talk about their deficit, but it's not even the biggest per capita by state. The top three belong to Texas, Nevada, and New Jersey....all Republican governors. Interesting, huh? Yes, THAT Rick Perry, the one going on an on about fiscal responsibility....
