TAYLOR, Mich.Ė The Taylor School District will be closed down Tuesday because of the high number of staff that have either called in sick or are taking personal days to attend rallies in Lansing.

Superintendent Diane Allen told Local 4 there isnít enough teachers to cover classrooms, so the all schools will be closed for the day. She said she had heard from a principal about where the teachers were going.

The state House and Senate approved bills last week that would prohibit requiring non-union employees to financially support unions at their workplace.

Good for them, I hope American teachers eventually get the respect they deserve and we can be a great country again!!!

If they don't show up for work, they should be fired, just like anyone else. But that logic does not register with liberals.

Tom2v is right. Their behavior kind of blows the crap out of the theory They are doing it; "because of the children".

What a bunch of malarky. They are doing it for themselves. The truth is now out. To hell with the kids, lets go support our union. lol

Luckly, we are in America, and standing up for what we believe in is a right. For sure, what I believe in might not match what you believe in, but we shoud be thankful and accept the process as a virtuous one.

Nobody said the teachers did not have rights. However they don't have the right to shut a school.

Is that anything like Rosa Parks did not have the right to ride in the front of the bus?

Apparently you have lost touch with why we, today, have the benefits(hours, pay...) we do. Someone else suffered to get them for us.

And with their actions, they have tarnished that memory...

Nope, they're standing up for their beliefs, at their own benefit's cost....
