My favorite Indian restaurant, RIP. They took a big hit at lunchtime when the bridge construction started.

Have you ever wondered why you see very few overweight Thai's and Indians? That is because their food sux donkey scrotums.

I don't know how anyone, can get the stuff past their noses in order to eat it. It is absolutely GOD awful. I want to wretch just thinking about the odor coming from the kitchen. No thanks.

Oh no!!! That sucks!!! Galt, we finally agree on something. We loved that restaurant! Their Samosas had gone downhill, but it was still good.

Mongoose, you're crazy. I go over to that Asian market and buy curry paste and make my own. Have you and Ian had Indian food, or just don't like the smell? My toddlers' diaper smells bad right now, but not the Taj!

I always assumed it was because their food is not saturated with fat and sugar. It almost sounds like you are proud of the fact that most Americans are overweight. As for the smell, if you don't like it... stay home.

No Problem johnny storm! I will not necessarily stay home, but I will avoid the food, thank you.

You,(anyone) can get fat eating just rice. I am not overweight for my age, I am careful what I eat and I try to get regular exercise. So it is my belief that if you are fat, it is because of personal choices in your diet and lifestyle.

Fat is produced when someone eats more calories that he/she burns and that is a choice. Would you disagree with that?

Besides, there was a good measure of sarcasm in what I wrote. My brother loves the stuff and I am constantly ribbing him on his stinking food choices. You need to lighten up johnny.

Thanks for your insights Ian. You caught the satirical fly ball.

Bonds, we actually agree on alot of things. It is when you start defending the two party system and poo poo'ing third parties when we highly diverge.

Goose, first time I had Indian food, yuk. I really have a hankering for their spicy pickles, VERY hot yet doesn't hang with you like mexican spicy food. I like most Asian foods

JG, if I ever have an desire to actually eat something that comes out of an Indian/Thai restaurant, I will contact you. You seem to be one of the more logical and trustworthy people here. I would take your word as truth if you said it was "good".

Can one hold his nose while eating India food or would that be a social faux pas. ;-D

I think a more accurate description, is it grows on you. I worked at a H1B sweat shop for a while (Indian workers doing software on a workers visa) and got alot of exposure to their foods.

Oh, also, Thai food, that didn't take much effort to learn to like.

Try Phad Thai your first time. That is a noodle dish. Either no spice or mild spice. I like Phad Thai with scallops or alternately chicken. Place up on Butternut, Thai Palace, is not too bad. Tom Yum shop is good and Thai Ice Tea is also a good drink.

Ever had Masaman curry, Galt? I had it in the Thai restaurant there that turned into a bar. Man, that was good. You can buy the paste in a little yellow can in the Asian market. Awesome noodles available in the cooler, too.

Well, it appears to be done, all the lanes where open yesterday save a few spots of wet road lane paint.

6 lanes + two center turning lanes. I went through during rush hours and wide open spaces. I used to live near there prior to the work, and never seemed a bottleneck to me.

I wonder if all the failed/destroyed businesses where worth it?

You mean snookers? They still serve Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese food. I go there fairly regularly (for the Vietnamese food). I will look at the menu next time for that dish you mentioned.
