What a joke for a coach, he took the job so he wouldnt have to help with football.

So you're saying there's a better coach...helping with football? Who would you like to see coaching and what makes him a "joke"? It's fairly obvious you care about the program somewhat and perhaps played in '84 so I'm just curious as to where this program has been, where it's at and where YOU see it going. Just curious.

We'll if they would hire the girls a coach instead of just giving them offseason coaches, they would go somewhere!!

What I'm saying is the reason Wood is coaching softball is if he chose not to he would be required to be assistant football coach which would take more of his time and pay less. Like said above we need a softball coach, not someone doing it because if they didn't they would have to something else.
Also Wood has never had success in anything, jr high boys basketball or baseball or high school baseball, that's the joke part.

Oh I see. Had HHS been successful in these programs prior to this Coach Wood? The only thing I can think of Holdenville winning in anything would be Power Lifting in the mid 90's and have never really heard anything about that since. I don't follow girls athletics as closely as others especially softball so I'm just wondering.

Fastpitch went to state in 2010, basketball and band also went to state in 2010

Going to state and winning state are two totally different things all together. Please don't tell me HHS hangs banners in the gymnasium for state tournament appearances. I mean it's fine but an appearance is an honor but shouldn't be viewed as an accomplishment. Your goal shouldn't be to get to state. Just curious as to how many kids the said teams lost due to graduation or otherwise and if the current team is really expected to make another appearance. If not the expectations out of your coach may be way too high. You also have to look at the caliber of teams you are playing. Just saying.

Saw him at the game Friday. He was in the press box. Guess you were wrong about that, huh?

There is a lot of school employees going to the ballgames, it is all the practice and preparing that goes on that he won't have to do. Just about everyone enjoys going to the games.

Looks like softball is over for the girls, it's kinda crazy with the girls that played that they couldn't even advance past districts. Sure thought there was enough talent to at least make a good showing.

I sure thought our softball team was better then this. I know some of the players are good enough to compete with the other teams, can't figure out what happened. Along the same lines whats up with the foot team?

football team just isn't very good. Big surprise there huh? besides, they'd all rather drink beer and smoke pot.

The softball team was young this year. There is a lot of talent, but only one senior and a handful of juniors if that. The coaches had to recruit girls to play so they would have enough, therefore there is no room for favoritism. The softball team played up to six days a week, and had two a days long before football started. Coach Wood worked hard in the summer along with coach Hoover. Those that complain often do not know what it takes. Even with only 9 or 10 girls that can be a lot of ego to manage, and most of the time parents have blinders and can't see what their children can really do. The girls worked hard, and the coaches did too. Next year things will be better. Success takes years, not weeks.

All the teams use young players (some teams have won state with no seniors) and they all work during the summer and all coaches have girls with ego's and they all have 9 players on the field. Sounds like a bunch of excuses for losing. Get over it and accept what it is. All of our sports are the same.
