I agreee with Hockey Mom. Stop the rumors. The administration has to decided to keep quiet. Is there something they choose to hide? Was the Principal actually TOO GOOD for them? Remember that certain incompetents will do anything to others to bring them down to their level! How can the top administration justify going through 3 Principals in a matter of 2 years? This man was doing a stellar job at his previous school. He was very well liked by all. Perhaps certain administrators were intimidated by him and feared for their jobs. He was at his level of competence. The current administration has risen to their level of imcompetence. Time to clean house!

The School Committee still has no idea what has transpired! How can this be?

Is Culkeen trying to cover things up! It's worked for him in the past based on the high principal turnover, but hopefully not this time. If you truly care about Monty Tech and the environment in which the children are educated, then it's time the teachers, administrators, parents, students and School Committee alike take a stand. If Culkeen is not tring to hide something, then the reasons behind the administrative leave should already have been communicated at the very least to the School Committee. How can the members of the School Committee not know? Do they have no authority? Is Culkeen above the School Committe? Is that how the reporting structure is supposed to work? If so, then disband the School Committee since they apparently have no voice or authority!

Culkeen can stop the rumors and let the truth be known. Ask yourself "Why hasn't he?". He's had plenty of time and opportunity has he not?

Based on this article, the dam is starting to leak! Culkeen's boat is starting to take on water! Questions have been asked, answers need to be given!

Just reread the article.

To the Parents and Members of the School Committe,

Representatives from the teachers' union and student body are explicitly asking for our help based on the quotes within the article. Do not let their voices fall on deaf ears!

This school serves the children of 18 communities! It's time to ensure that there is an atmosphere where the teachers are comfortable teaching and our children have an environment that supports higher learning and guidance!

Regardless of where you stand on this issue, stop with the rumors.... stop asking for answers! It's time to demand them!

We need to resolve this issue so the "considerable buzz" within and outside of the school goes away. We have a responsibility to provide and foster an environment that allows our teachers to focus on teaching and the students on learning.

If we're not part of the solution, then we're part of the problem!

At this point it seems that every avenue is a dead end. When someone dishonest is in charge and has the hability to use existing laws to achieve his own ends he can intimidate everyone into not talking and the truth will mater less and less as time goes by. the school commitee was going to bring some light into this... Gess what, they can't. Because of existing laws? How convenient. What can be done. Does anyone know what to do? Where to go? Who to turn to?
Please do not let time lessen the importance of correcting this situation.

He tries to rub up to them for a boob feel and makes sexual comments to them. My son was expelled for something a girl did to him. He was expelled and the girl got to stay. I know for a fact that the dean was overheard saying that he wondered if the act was finished. I can't say what he really said because some of the students might read this and it is not appropriate for them to read. My point is: These two men should practice what they preach. What my son got expelled for is the same thing these two men are doing within the school. GET RID OF THEM!!!!!!!!!
Your son sounds like the problem. Stop defending bad behavior by your child.

If these men are so bad, then why is there such a big waiting list to get in that school. My son graduated last year and had a wonderful high school experience, and is going on to be sucessful in his trade.
I support MT administration and their quick response to bad behavior. Keep up the good work and we won't end up like one of the failing schools in Fitchburg.

I go to monty tech and I've been to the dean's office quite a few times and I see Mr. Tata around the school. While Mr. Tata is an ass, he doesn't do anything like that to gils. I really hate him, but he really isn't a pig. I don't know where the hell you heard that he is making sexual comments to girls or trying to feel their boobs, but I can tell you it isn't true. And as a student, I would really like to have a princible, and I would like to know why the old one left. It was out of the blue, especially because he had only been at our school for like a month.

A few years ago Leominster had a wonderful principle, Mr. Masciarelli. The school year had just begun and one day he left suddenly. One of the secretaries mentioned that the day before he got a visit from the then superintendent. The rumor was that she left his office very angry. The next day the office staff found his office cleaned out. Some time after he was hired in Fitchburg. Leominster's loss was Fitchburg's gain. I blame in on the fact that some superintendents have to be in control.

Based on the comments from students, staff, and parents it appears that Mr. DeSimone had made an excellent impression on the school community. The students and staff seemed to welcome him and enjoy having new leadership in their building. All this makes you wonder what he could have possibly done in a few short weeks to warrant being put on leave.
I think maybe Mr. Culkeen who is known to lead by fear and retaliation had found something to be afraid of. Mr. DeSimone seemed to be making connections with students and staff and providing them with the type of leadership which they have been looking for.
Maybe Mr. Culkeen was worried that if Mr. DeSimone stayed any longer to many people would rally behind him when he attempted to replace him.
We should take a closer look at Mr. Culkeen and his ability to lead especially since he appears to have been unable to mentor a new administrator who came highly recommended, was more then qualified, and had the support of students and staff.

If you go to Monty Tech, why is your post from Alston? That is not a Monty Tech community.

Nothing random about it. The location is the location of the ISP, or the data center your ISP is routing you through.

Who created the position of Superimtendent for Public Schools anyways. There is rarely a good one, and this one like others seems to have at least a few School Committee members in his pocket. Whats the agenda here? Time to expose them all.

Well, my son is getting older. I have been very vocal that I want my son to go to Monty Tech. However, recent information is making me think twice. It seems to me that the personal agenda of the superintendent is hurting the school. A combination of personal transgretions and professional misjudgement has compromised the integrity of the school. I happen to run in the same circles as a couple of teachers and one administator from the school. As an outsider I have been able to analyze the situation based on their comments. I know the bias of employees. I understand that there is a natural conflict there. But, I can say with full confidence that this man (Mr. Culkeen) seems out of touch with students, administrators, and teachers. He is self centered and seems to be under the influence of the repercussions of his personal mistakes. Two principals have been the victim of his failure as a superintendant. We need to stop him before students and the school itself become victims. If he is still running the school when the time comes my son will stay far away from Monty Tech. However, I want my son to follow in my footsteps. So, if the school committee does not act, I implore Jim Culkeen to post his resignation. Too many future plumbers, electritions, mechanics...etc depend on it.

My advice to all concerned individuals, if you feel the Superintendent is acting in unbecoming behavior and there seems no way to resolve the matters at hand then you should boycott the school. When businesses are protested and there is a boycott, it affects the bottom line and that is the ultimate way of making them pay attention. So don’t do business with the school and boycott the Superintendent Diner that is held annually at the school. This will send a message that you want to be heard!!!

Do you really think he was well liked at MMHS? Try asking the people that work there.
In spite of the lies fostered by his former boss,,,, I believe (not confirmed) is contract was not renewed. He was an alleged womaniser. and last but not least I understand that the Monty search committee was sandbagged. For what its worth
