I'm guessing that I am not going to get any good answers to my requests. I expect smart-alec answers, though.

I don't know about all that but, I have to say this, I brought my child from another school. The teachers in Holcomb school could not believe the record that followed my child was theirs it was so wrong. My child is an honor roll student and has a whole new outlook on life because of Holcomb school and the amazing staff! My family will be forever greatfull to this school and the teachers.

You go girl, Holcomb Schools are great! Unfortunately, some of our student's parents are not!!! They do not complain when their child does not do his/her homework, but they do blame the school when the child receives a low score for the poor work habits. Their child did not make cheerleader, basketball team, etc., they blame the school - never taking responsibility for any of the child's education and training. Usually, those griping were poor students themselves and blame the school for their inability to gain a job that pays more than minimum wages and their unsuccessful marriage.

I heard that!! This is the best school in Missouri and I hope the voters of our district don't let a couple of bad apples try to ruin the whole bunch!! Some people get pissed because they don't get something handed to them when they didn't earn it. You don't have discipline issues at our school like others either. The biggest problem Holcomb school has with discipline is having a kid with sagging paints or holes in their jeans that they make them cover up with duct tape.

Let's see if we consolidate with Clarkton we will have to build a new school building, with Campbell the same, with Kennett the same. I do not see all the savings that a consolidation would accomplish. Just saying.
Campbell has a new high school. If you consolidate with them, the high school could be at Campbell and the Jr. High at Holcomb Clarkton can come to but close schools on that campus. You would save administrative costs, teacher salaries, etc. It would save money. In fact, you can bet that the Campbell has the upper hand becasue they have the new building and the power plant to pay for future buildings if needed. At holcomb and clarkton, the people have to pay for it all. One day all of you will be going to Campbell or should I say, North Dunklin County High School.

I agree Holcomb is a great place for kids to go to school. The thing that is sad is it could still be so much better. Every kid who attends there should be made to feel special and a part of something. If you take out the nepotism of the board and teachers it would make so much difference. Every kid should be judged as an individual. Just look at the yearbook. 75% of the pictures in there are of kids who have family ties to the school. Every thing that is judged by an "impartial judge" (Teachers with Kids in the system) for popularity contests end up going to kids who have a a family member involved in the school. These things leave other kids feeling a little short changed and who can blame them. I would not want my kid(s) to be anywhere else but with it being so easy to fix these issues why can't we. Any ideas??

Just look at all the people employed there that have board ties...I don't know how the school system gets by with this. It's wrong that qualified people get looked over because they are not married to a board member or kin to them. Funny how jobs aren't even posted they are just filled.

Take a look at all the other schools. The same thing happens there as well. It's just part of it I guess.
