Anyone think that perhaps the park and ramp should be more clearly marked? There isn't even a sign saying "road ends". Cmon' Smithtown.

It's a shame what has happened. I also went to high school with Ryan. He was always smiling... a very nice guy. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.

This is such a shame.. Ryan was a good friend of mine from school and work. It's obvious some things were kept out of the article as Ryan was not the driver, he was the passenger. I too am praying for his family as well as Rob's family. Rob I am praying for you...please make it.

My prayers are for his family and friends...we miss you.

To all the people that are trashing Ryan & Rob.. you don't know the circumstances whatsoever behind the accident... they weren't drinking at the dock at all. They were on their way back home and obviously took a wrong turn not realizing they were going down this type of road (Maybe there should be some signs or barriers up especially since there are no lights on the road). And even if the reports come back that there was alcohol in their systems, that does not make them bad people. How many people drive while intoxicated all the time? It was simply an accident. Also, if the call was put in at 350 why didn't anything get recovered until 735? Something should have been done earlier than that. Rob- I'm praying for a miracle for you, you were able to get out of the car and I know you were strong enough to try and swim to shore... I love you both and all my thoughts go out to both of your families.

Thank you- thats the type of post I needed to see- These were sons, brothers, cousins, and cherished friends. Still praying for Robert's safe return.
-As a friend, we know these are two good boys, no matter what anyone says. They were just trying to find their way home.

I have known Ryan and his family for many years. Ryan is my son's best friend. To all that knew him this is a devastating loss. We grieve for him and his loving family. May God grant them the strength to find peace in his loss. I will always remember the sweet little boy who grew into a wonderful young man. May God bless Ryan Colvin and his family and friends. We will cherish our memories of Ryan forever.

He wasn't driving, he was the passenger. So just step back and let those who knew him, and his families mourn.

There's no need to try and slander him, it's nothing more than ignorance.

Ryan and Rob were good people, accidents happen. I stopped by that place earlier today and there's no barrier or anything, the road just continues straight into the river.

There should at least be speed bumps or even a gate to block that portion of the road off.
