Well, last night's city council meeting was doom and gloom with many commercial property owners predicting the end of a prosperous Pittsfield if their taxes go up on their properties. Those properties offer the salvation of Pittsfield, as long as the taxes don't go up anymore. Those vacant properties are possibly the home of the next EV Worldwide company manufacturing street cars or batteries, employees thousands of home owner taxpayers and bringing new home buyers into Pittsfield to works at the high paying jobs and shop in beautiful downtown upstreet and go to the theaters. So you can see why it's so important to saddle to home owners with higher taxes rather than the commercial property owners. All the newly employeed citizens in their newly created prosperous jobs can join flood of students from Shaker Village who are spending thousands of dollars on North Street.
